“Alcohol and tiddies” follow-up

If you saw my original post, you’ll remember I was drinking about a half-pint of vodka every night. That was around a month ago. Since then, I’ve dropped it to 1/4 pint. It had been almost a year since I went a single night without drinking, but I also managed to go 2 nights in a row without it and didn’t have any bad withdrawal symptoms. Lost 5 lbs and a couple inches off my stomach, too. To be clear, vanity isn’t my primary motivation for getting off the drank, but seeing visual progress does help encourage me in the fight.

Could someone work some woo magic on this, get artsy fartsy, whatever!

My wife took this pic of my daughter and I on our recent vacation. I love it and just wanted to see what pinache an artists eye might add. May end up framing it. Thanks in advance!

Alcohol and tiddies

I work hard and efficiently, eat reasonably well and sleep…okay-ish. 45 y.o. and been lifting for close to 3 years. My achilles heel is the half-pint of vodka I drink every night. It’s obviously a horrible habit and counterproductive. Anyone had a similar experience and pushed past it? I weigh around 185 lb right now and feel like I could probably shed 15 lbs and these man-tiddies and still keep my strength if I’d just eschew alcohol.

Edit: I appreciate the advice and encouragement. I’m really less concerned about the vanity aspect than any of the other myriad negatives. I reckon this was just a way to breach the topic. Gonna try to abstain fully for the first night in months. I’ll probably sleep like crap and sweat like a pig, but should help me gauge my actual physical dependency.

OHP goal accomplished

Been lifting for around 2.5 years. Being able to strict press 1 plate was a goal that, while not uncommon, seemed a long way off when I first was getting serious. I just put up 130lbs for 5 reps last workout so I reckon it’s safe to say I could raise 135 for a couple reps. Gonna check this one off!

M/45/5’8” [165lbs < 185lbs = 20lbs] (2.5 years) Starting Strength

I don’t have a great before and after. I train for strength, but form follows function and it’s satisfying to see my physique telling the tell of all the hours I’ve spent under the barbell.
