A fascinating & fantastical 1h40+m interview with Ray Horsch from 2013 about his life in crime, art, and pornography - I think he's the mastermind of the new Philly horror show

I listened to this interview close to a decade ago and it always stuck with me because of how fantastical it is and because Ray is from Stroudsburg in NEPA which is near where ai grew up.

I can't believe this Forrest Gump of Crime came back into my life. in this he talks about riding a horse to school, bucking the school system, being a burglar and phone tapper for black projects with the CIA and FBI, he talks about running weed for the Mafia, he talks about xonterfetting money AND picassos, he talks about working at sesame Street, he talks about making meth for biker gangs and going on the run from the feds. oh and he had just gotten out of jail for attempting to abduct a 9-year-old girl.

One really underrated part of the Sixers getting LeBron is that NYKs ain't gonna be scoopin our tickies

There's a really good chance every home game sells out now and a really good chance Philly holds their tickets when NY comes to town. Seeing all the blue and orange in South Philly makes me 🤢

A coming of age Western? Bad Company blew me away.

I'm a big fan of westerns, a big fan of Jeff Bridges, and a big fan of FCE (who restored this film) and somehow it slipped by me. Jeff Bridges is like a young Jeff Bridges, Barry Brown is like a young Jimmy Stewart and together they avoid the draft and ride west with some other boys looking to avoid the a Civil War and get a taste of America on a couple of horses and mules. These are adolescent boys and as you know the West was won by men.

Bridges and Brown act the shit out of this movie and made you feel like you were one of the boys.

We rarely get Westerns from the perspective of young people and in this you get a gang of different ages and maturities who experience it together. The hardness of the west is all around these young men and just like when we were teenagers and in situations over our heads they handle it the best they could but the best they could is not good enough because like I said at the top - the West was won by men. We get that in the end.

Everything about this movie was a breathe of fresh air from 1972.

Has Ghost Electric Limeade gone bye bye?

It seemed like there was a huge push when it got into Dollar General and I thought my daily driver was gonna be at DGs in every town in America but now not only is it hard to find at DG but I can't find it anywhere.

What's the scoop?

Finally got to try Reign Cherry Limeade ❤️💚

Banger alert - easily the best Reign flavor and it's at least as good as the Ghost CLA

Reign should get this flavor out there more - I've been searching for it for over a year at my local refrigerators.

How am I supposed to feel on medication?

I got prescribed Ritalin in November. I felt an immediate impact, like I was very "locked in" and a little speedy (but not cracked out speedy) the first 3-5 days and then that feeling went away - I didn't notice much of a difference between that and being unmedicated.

The next month my doctor upped my dose and I got that same feeling of being locked in and a non-cracked out stimulant-feeling for 3-5 days and then it mostly tapered out again.

That "locked in" feeling felt like a super power. I was hyper focused, I was able to stand up for myself better, being less of a pushover on rules at home and knocking tasks off my list easily, I was addressing feelings I had more in the moment instead of letting feelings go - it was a confidence boost on top of being focused.

I haven't gone up in dose and haven't changed meds since december because I just don't know what "normal" is supposed to feel like. If those 3-5 days is what I'm supposed to feel like then my unmedicated "normal" is like a turtle or a sloth -when the first few days of getting medicated and feeling locked in felt like I'm more of a hawk or a wolf lol now I definitely don't have the locked in feeling and maybe I'm more focused but it's hard to say without a real way to measure focus over the course of weeks or months.

I've considered going off my medication for a week just to compare it to how I feel taking the medication

But I was wondering if anyone can recommend resources to how I should feel medicated or possibly a list of "what to look for" when trying new medication or even a good way to measure every day focus.

I should also note that my PCP is new to prescribing meds and is down to let me choose my medication path if I'm doing good research on my own.
