Why Institutions won't buy XRP & Why you dont want them to
Institutions won't buy XRP because it's a massive risk to their balance sheet. They might have ownership of some XRP holding vehicle like a crypto ETF as part of a wider portfolio, but Instos who actually need / use XRP are not going to purchase it.
Why?
Because ODL exists. You convert to XRP then convert to some other currency. That takes seconds. Why would Instos need to buy billions of dollars worth of XRP when Ripple has already made a service that lets you skip that?
XRP price is extremely volatile, no company is going to buy & hold it. No, they dont care about staking.
XRPL activity does not equate to Instos purchasing XRP. Instos can invest 3 digit dollars to get way more than enough XRP to fund a lifetime supply of activity.
Why you dont want Instos to buy XRP
Where do you guys think Instos would purchase XRP? It's almost like there's a business whose main job it is to SELL XRP. Geez, I wonder who that is. Could it be the company with billions of XRP? What if it's Ripple? Wow.
By buying Ripple's XRP, Instos are actually creating more supply - that would have been locked up - instead of creating demand. Hi. I'm Institution A, I just bought $1b (lol) worth of XRP from Ripple. Guess what happened to the market price! Nothing!
Guess what happens when the Insto wants to sell! Oops, supply just massively increased on the market because that's the only place people will purchase it!
Conclusion
In other words, you both shouldnt expect Institutions to buy XRP and you dont want them to. They are not going to risk billions on a shitcoin, and if they did, it wouldnt push price up but instead push price DOWN sometime further in the future.
