I'm really happy to see Mutiny After Midnight hit streaming services, especially the Extended Version. That said, as someone who bought the physical CD back in February, I'm a little disappointed it didn't include the bonus tracks.
I've always loved Sturgill's live covers of "You Don't Miss Your Water" and "A Whiter Shade of Pale." Does anyone know where I can get lossless versions of just the extra tracks so I can add them to my local collection? Thanks.
I recently bought a large Arai Contour-X from my local Cycle Gear. I tried on a few different helmets in the store (including the Arai Regent-X and Shoei RF-1400), but I liked the feel and comfort of the Contour-X the best. I wore it around the store for about 10 minutes, and the sales rep ran me through a few movements to verify the fit, everything seemed great.
After I bought it, the rep mentioned I had 90 days to return it as long as I hadn't ridden with it. He recommended wearing it around the house for a while to guarantee the fit, which I've been doing.
Here's the problem: the internal rubber nose piece (breath deflector) just barely touches the tip of my nose, and the front chin bar is so close to my lips that I can essentially kiss it if I pucker. I've been borrowing a friend's older KBC helmet (also a size large) and I don't have this issue at all; the nose piece and chin bar are much farther from my face. I'm hesitant to keep the Arai because this might be a deal breaker for me, despite how perfectly the rest of the helmet fits.
I called the store the next day, and they told me I could just remove the rubber nose piece and that installing the Pinlock would serve the same defogging purpose. However, I'm still concerned about the chin bar clearance. I feel like if I take a direct frontal impact, the guard will just smash right into my teeth.
Has anyone else had this issue with the Contour-X? Does this mean the helmet is the wrong shape for my face? I think I'm going to take it back to the store and try on some other options, but it's a bit of a drive and I'll have to take my car since I can't safely transport the helmet box on my bike. I wanted to get some thoughts and opinions here before making the trip. Any suggestions on what I should try? Thanks!
