Good morning everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right sub, but I hope you can help me anyway.
As the title says, I'm deciding what type of internet connection to install at home and I need a hand. Before explaining my doubts, here's some background to help you understand the situation better:
I live in Italy (Aosta Valley), in a municipality covered by the national fiber wholesaler (OpenFiber) in a rural/subsidized area. I've always lived without a fixed home internet line, using my phone's hotspot for gaming, downloading, and watching movies.
When I was younger it didn't make a big difference, but today it has become pretty unsustainable. The biggest problem I have isn't so much the latency in online games (50-70ms, a bit high but manageable) as the network instability. It often happens that the ping spikes to 1000 or (even worse) I get completely disconnected for 10/15 seconds, as if my time window to use the bandwidth is closed and then reopened. This always disconnects me from various lobbies and online matches, ruining the session. Now that I've graduated high school, I will start earning a regular salary and I want to fix this annoying issue that ruins almost every gaming session, taking away my relaxation after work.
After this wall of text, here is my dilemma:
Fiber at home (FTTH) or a 5G router with a SIM card?
Yes, I know it's a very stupid question that requires almost no thinking, but my problem is that I still live with my parents. They consider having a good home network completely useless and superfluous—a waste of money, basically. Pushing to get a wired line would inevitably lead them to hold it against me, causing long, heavy arguments and a lot of annoyance because they don't understand this need, and if they don't understand it, then it's bullshit.
They would be much more open to the 5G router + SIM solution.
Could anyone who has chosen this solution (and still uses it or has moved on from it) tell me what to expect in terms of latency, download speeds, and connection stability?
I repeat that I obviously know it will be inferior to a wired network, but *any* improvement compared to my current situation (both in ping and stability) would help me survive another couple of years until I get my own place and can do as I please.
I should also add that I did some research and there is a 5G cell tower with the N78 band not too far from my house (pretty much line-of-sight). So, my idea was to get an outdoor PoE 5G antenna/modem and an indoor router.

Ciao a tutti! Da prima dell'ultimo aumento dei prezzi, stavo stilando una lista di upgrade per il mio pc: CPU, dissipatore, RAM e un nuovo case per l'estetica. Con i rincari recenti, però, sono bloccato.

Questa è la mia configurazione attuale:
i5 12400f
32 gb ddr4 3200mhz cl16
Rtx 3060 12gb
1TB SSD NVMe Sabrent + 2TB HDD Seagate Barracuda
Enermax 750w

L'idea iniziale era il salto su AMD con un Ryzen 7 7800X3D e il passaggio alle DDR5, mantenendo la 3060. Considerando quanto costa oggi il blocco intero (CPU + Mobo AM5 + RAM DDR5), non mi sembra più una mossa tanto sensata per le mie tasche.
Tuttavia, il 12400F sta iniziando a patire e vorrei comunque fare un upgrade al processore per dargli un po' di respiro.
Cosa mi consigliate? Ha senso valutare un processore di 13a/14a generazione per restare sul mio socket attuale? Su cosa potrei buttarmi? Grazie!

edit: gioco raramente a giochi tripla A, nei quali mi accontento. mi interessa migliorare le prestazioni in giochi fps multiplayer(valorant, delta force e principalmente fortnite che è più incentrato sulla cpu)
Aggiungo che ieri ho notato un grosso calo(dagli abituali 165 a 90/100 fps e l’utilizzo della cpu sta diventando insolitamente alto mentre gioco, mentre la gpu rimane al 40%.

i am soon going to buy a duke 390, either the last model or a 2023 model. Can you guys give recommendations on crash cages/frame sliders or overall protections for the bike? I'm particularly worried about the edges around the tank, because they are the widest point on the bike and if i fall they will easily get destroyed. If you could share what you bought and installed with photos and links it would be perfect and very useful, thanks to you all!

Allora, ciao a tutti, è la prima volta che posto su reddit e sono in cerca di consigli. Sto finendo le superiori, ho preso la decisione di non fare un’università perché dovrei spostarmi di regione, e non mi va di mettere completamente in blocco la mia vita qui per spostarmi dai 3 ai 5 anni. Aggiungo che sebbene non sia un problema per loro non mi va di pesare sulle spalle dei miei genitori per un così lungo periodo e vorrei iniziare a costruire e mettere da parte il più possibile per il futuro. Mi sto diplomando in informatica e telecomunicazioni, negli anni mi sono appassionato al lato sistemistico e mi piacerebbe buttarmi in questo settore. Scrivo qui perché ero super deciso nell’iniziare a lavorare, fare la gavetta costruendo esperienza per poi cercare di arrivare a un bel posto di lavoro, fino a pochi giorni fa quando un discorso con un mio insegnante mi ha creato dubbi immensi. Non so più tanto se procedere in questa direzione o rivalutare la mia scelta riguardo l’università, come caldamente consigliato da pressoché l’intero corpo dei docenti. Qualcuno di voi si era trovato nella mia situazione o in una simile? Ha funzionato? Qualsiasi consiglio è bene accetto, specie perché al momento mi trovo davvero nel pallone.
