I’m addicted

Went out on my fishing kayak on the local lake early in the morning to catch some bass and after an hour of no bites I decided to switch up my target. I caught a nice size pike earlier in the week and had always heard there is good pike in there so I tied on a large spinner in a paddle tail trailer and was ripping through the weeds and immediately got smacked. I caught 4 nice size ones and a couple babies in a small bay over a couple hours. Biggest one I was standing on the kayak and it hit like a truck and dove into the weeds, I thought I had a monster needless to say I definitely need to upgrade from my bass rod to a dedicated pike rod. I also need a better way to handle them, I have long pliers but I had to give these guys a pep talk before hand because they were so angry. Any tips and advice for handling them better and catching bigger ones?

Mohave county az VS Socorro county nm

We are looking at property in those areas for off grid living. Does anyone have experience in either area that can give insight on which would be best for us? We plan to live in our Rv while we build an earthship home or container home and with be on full solar and bringing in big tanks for water haul. I know Mohave county requires a septic before you can get a permit to stay on the land and Socorro seams much more lax with their codes. I can build my garden/livestock setup in either area but I’d be able to grow more variety in nm. I have found a lot of videos on YouTube about Mohave living so I have a solid idea of what that likes but not as much info on Socorro. We are planning a trip down to look at properties in both places but if we can eliminate one option it would make things a lot easier! Thanks in advance for any advice

Heard you guys like big Rock Bass..

This pig is nearly busting at the seams.. 1.25lb and 10.5 in. Catch and release as always. Too bad there isn’t a rock bass section in the trophy club, I feel this is a good one. What do you guys think?

Edit; I know my handling wasn’t the best but to be fair it was pitch dark with only the light of the moon and I don’t like to get stabbed by those guys

Got skunked all day and went for one last quick night session and got a bunch, feels good!

Long tome fisher, first time poster. I spent all day shore fishing various lakes in my area without as much as a single bite and gave up about dinner time. I went home and ate/relaxed with the ol lady and wasn’t satisfied with my day of fishing so I walked down to the lake close to us for an hour and I am so happy I did! Biggest was 20.5 in and 4.8lbs, second was 18in and 3.6lbs, third was 15 and caught a 11in rock bass for good measure. All c n r, caught with crushcity mayor and bitsybug with rageswimmer. Northern Michigan, not even the biggest I’ve got this month but I am very happy with the results and just wanted to share
