Temu VZN.1i Vermilion Bird Zodiac Series Putter - Some impressions

Hey,

glad this community convinced me of trying my luck on Temu. So recently with some coupons I ordered this one for 54 Euros including shipping. Was called Zodiac series and had a couple of options without the LAB logos (which I don't really care about).

As you can see, came perfectly balanced, with steel shaft, passed all tests that I could do without a revealer and picks up balls perfectly.

Weight is 528.7g nor sure if that is close to the original or not but feels very solid and I like it.

Noise when hitting ball is great, better than my Wilson Staff Infinite The Bean putter which has a very high pitched metallic ping sound.

So I am super happy and thanks again for making me aware of these putters! Have another one incoming in red for my wife which may have LAB branding also with steel shaft, let's see if I will be lucky again.

Unfortunately both this one and the red one I ordered disappeared very quickly on Temu and there a re Not a lot there right now. So I suggest to be on the lookout if you want to get one. These Zodiac ones seem solid really and I can recommend them!

Will take it to the practice ground later but am sure I will be very happy. Cheers!

WITB - 9 months in, HCP28-ish according to 18Birdies

So here it goes as the gear game is also a fun part of golf to me:

Driver: Mizuno ST 230 Max, 12 Loft, Denali Red 60 R Flex Shaft, cut to 44 inch, 6g lead tape for D3 swing weight

5 Wood: Cleveland Halo XL, 18 Loft, Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 55 R Flex Shaft, removed the 8g CB weight off the butt end of the shaft to get to D3 swing weight

7 Wood: Wilson Staff D7, 21 Loft, UST Mamiya Elements Helium 46g R Flex Shaft, 3g Lead Tape for D1.4 swing weight

5 Hybrid: Wilson Staff D9, 25 Loft, Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver 60 R Flex Shaft, 3g Lead Tape for D1.8 swing weight

6 iron to PW: Cleveland Zipcore XL, 6 iron at 26 Loft, UST Mamiya Helium Nanocore 60 R Flex Shaft, removed CB weights to get D3 swing weight (and more kick in the shaft)

Gap Wedge: Wilson Staff Launch Pad 2, 49 Loft, Even Flow 5.5 60 R Flex Shaft

Sand Wedge: Wilson Staff Launch Pad 2, 55 Loft, Even Flow 5.5 60 R Flex Shaft

Lob Wedge: Cleveland CBX4, 58 Loft 12 Bounce, Recoil Dart 80 Wedge Flex Shaft

Putter: Wilson Staff Infinite "The Bean" Mallet Putter

Regarding me: 9 months into the game, loving it and enjoying it a lot. I took initially 13x 30min lessons which helped greatly. Form there went to explore various things like stack and tilt for example. I ended up following mostly Manuel de La Torre, Fred Shoemaker and Tim Gallwey and hence my goal is a smooth swing with a lot of clubhead awareness and let the body do what it must instead of sequencing everything mechanically (which I cannot do and felt forced). I am now at around HCP28 and play around 27-36 holes per week + one or two sessions at training facilities.

Open for me currently: I am not happy with the 5H and 6i overlap in loft (just 1 degree apart) and am wondering to replace 7W + 5H with something like a Cleveland Halo XL Hywood 5+ with 23 loft or alternative option: just bench the 6 iron for now as it's more difficult to hit well compared to 5H.

Cheers and wishing you a lovely time on the course!
