Ranking all 138 horror movies I've watched (because I'm bored)

Strap in. I want to post this because there's so many good horror movies I feel like people don't talk about!

Hereditary - 5/5. Eccentric and creepy, a great watch. One of the only horror movies that actually scare me.

Late Night with the Devil - 5/5. So fun, and one of my favorite horror performances of all time. Also, I get to look at David Dastmalchian the whole time 🤤🤤🤤

When Evil Lurks - 5/5. I love gross movies. It has a good message and good gore, I'm easily satisfied.

V/H/S Beyond - 4.5/5. Probably not actually this good, but I watched it with friends so I had the time of my life. And I enjoyed every segment, which is rare for an anthology.

V/H/S/85 - 3/5. I didn't enjoy most of the segments, but it has my all time favorite segment so I gave it more stars.

Slother House - 1/5. This movie is trying to be "so bad it's good" but it's just bad. A campy horror movie shouldn't have to try so hard.

Pearl - 5/5. Amazing performances, good kills, and a great aesthetic.

Prey (2017) - 4.5/5. My favorite in the Predator franchise. Would be 5 but some parts just drag a little too long. But an amazing monster design can make up for anything.

X - 3.5/5. Same as Pearl, I absolutely love the aesthetic. But it's a little lower because I hate watching sex scenes. It's as simple as that.

V/H/S/94 - 3/5. Nothing spectacular, just a good movie.

Black Phone - 4/5. Such a good movie, with an instantly iconic villain. I also love Fin as a main character. RIP Robin.

Malignant - 5/5. I love weird movies. Gory enough to satisfy horror fans, weird enough to satisfy movie fans.

Get Out - 5/5. Duh.

The Bye Bye Man - can I do 10/5 😍😍 the Peepee poopoo man is truly so scary

Hush - 4/5. Probably not that good, but it was one of my first horror movies so it has a special place in my heart.

10 Cloverfield Lane - 3.5/5. A really well acted and good movie. I just think it would've been better without being a franchise movie.

The Boy - 2/5. I have a fear of dolls so this movie was initially very creepy. And then they revealed that the villain was just a hot guy. So..

V/H/S Viral - 0.5/5 wish I could give it zero. Confusing and stupid and an insult to the V/H/S name.

Funny Games (American version because I'm uncultured or whatever) - 5/5. It's creepy and strange. I like it.

Freddy vs Jason - 2.5/5. Pretty bad but it's iconic.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space - 5/5. Very possibly the best horror movie ever made. Basically one of my favorite movies in existence tbh

Return of the Living Dead - 5/5. Iconic. Amazing. In the top 3 of zombie movies ever.

The Fly - 5/5. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said before! It's a masterclass of horror.

The Stuff - 2/5. I know it's a cult classic but it's just way too long and a bit too boring.

The Toxic Avenger (og) - 4/5. A loveable main character that should've become more well known honestly

The Toxic Avenger (remake) - 5/5. Everything the first one was, but a little better!

The Thing - 5/5. Again, duh.

Basket Case - 5/5. I know most people probably don't hold this on the same level of The Thing, but I absolutely love low budget horror like this.

An American Werewolf in London - 2.5/5. Yes yes it's iconic I know. But the werewolf is only there for like 10 minutes. Call me stupid and uncultured all you want, but if I'm promised a werewolf I want to see that werewolf before an hour passes.

The Birds - 5/5. It's a classic.

Upgrade - 5/5. So underrated! Great for horror fans and non horror fans. Funny, heartbreaking, well acted, and extremely well directed.

Evil Dead (Remake) - 5/5. Scary. I love how gross and gory it is.

Society - 5/5. I love weird movies. This is possibly the weirdest horror movie. But I could be proven wrong. But any movie with the Shunting deserves 5 stars.

The Blob (remake) - 5/5. Ugh, chefs kiss. Some of my favorite kills of all time.

Psycho - 5/5. Duh.

Revenge - 5/5. The best rape revenge movie obvi. I love the aesthetic and the kills.

The Vvitch - 4/5. Great setting and a creepy vibe throughout.

Deadstream - 5/5. Not perfect for many others, but it's perfect for me.

Re-animator - 5/5. Just incredible, what can I say.

PG Psycho Gore Man - 2/5. It's kind of childish, and not as funny as I wish it was. Good kills, though.

Maxxxine - 2/5. Such a disappointment compared to the first two.

Cloverfield - 2/5. A monster movie. Nothing too special.

Frogman - 1/5. I was so excited to see a found footage frog movie!! But they wait until the last few minutes to actually show THE FUCKING FROGMAN. I hate hate hate when movies do that.

Renfield - 5/5. So funny and silly, love it. One of the most lovable main characters imo

The Deep House - 1/5. So disappointing. The concept is so amazing but they don't do enough with it! And it's not actually found footage btw

They Live - 4.5/5. Really good, just some fat that could've been cut.

The Loved Ones - 4/5. Australians know how to do horror.

Teeth - 5/5. The horror movie I always say more people need to watch. Yes, it's the teeth vagina movie

Death Becomes Her - 5/5. Iconic and hilarious. Campy to the max.

The Shining - 5/5. Duh.

Frakenhooker - 4/5. So fun to watch!! 90s love budget will always have my heart.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 5/5. When it comes to the Mount Rushmore of horror, this is obviously the best.

Halloween - I cannot share my true feelings here. Last time I did, everyone said I was an idiot teenager who has no taste.

Triangle - 5/5. Right up my alley! I love trippy movies like this.

Midsommar - 5/5. Obvious, but I think people even overhate it!

No one will save you - 5/5. In my opinion, the best movie with aliens in it. Expect for Project Hail Mary, but that's not horror.

The Taking of Deborah Logan - 3/5. Fun, but not really worth the watch. I'd just skip to the end.

Ready or Not - 5/5. Fun, funny, cool, gory, everything. So good.

Mandy - 4/5 I love how surreal it is! Would be higher but the ending goes on a bit too long.

Carrie - 5/5. One of the best horror books and movies of all time.

Scream - 4/5. It's amazing. I can't really say anything new so. It would be a 5 but Billy pisses me off so much.

The Visit - 2.5/5. Fun twist but not really good.

Split - 2/5. Not horrible, but the worst in the trilogy.

Alien - 3.5/5. It's.. good. Please don't crucify me. Just some fat that I thought was a bit boring to sit through.

Shaun of the Dead - 5/5. In the top 3 of zombie movies ever made, easy.

Misery - 5/5. My favorite of Stephen King movies. Creepy and tense and obviously amazing acting.

The Monkey - 5/5. Any movie that can make me cry laughing is high in my books. Also, amazing kills.

Sinners - 5/5. Duh. I can't imagine what problems anyone could have with this movie.

Sweeny Todd - 3/5. Good! Probably need a rewatch for a better opinion.

I Am Legend - 2.5/5. I think this is horror? Anyway, it's a zombie movie. This would be in the dictionary for the definition of a genre zombie movie.

The Babysitter - 1.5/5. Thinks it's way funnier than it is.

The Babysitter: Killer Queen - 2/5. A little more fun but it's still a babysitter movie.

A Quiet Place: Day One - 3/5. Good, but I feel like this whole series doesn't make that much sense. I feel like there's so many solutions we could've come up with but whatever.

Bring Her Back - 4/5. Gross. You know I like that. Also just very well made.

Birdemic: Shock and Terror - 0.5/5. Do I have to explain?

28 Days Later - 5/5. Possibly the best zombie movie, definitely in top 3.

28 Weeks Later - 0.5/5. How dare you.

28 Years Later - 2.5/5. It wasn't bad, I was just expecting more. Maybe it's just a bias because I love the first one so much.

Skillhouse - 0.5/5. Absolutely awful, but a very fun watch lol.

Together - 3.5/5. Fun and creative, I love that it has a happy ending.

Krampus - 3/5. It's a good horror movie. Nothing spectacular but it doesn't have to be.

Weapons - 5/5. It's amazing. Fun throughout and very well made.

The Village - 2.5/5. A bit boring but I like the twist.

V/H/S Halloween - 3.5/5. Some amazing segments, some boring segments.

Black Phone 2 - 2.5/5. Way too long, and the writing is.. not great. Too many characters and too many messages they try to put in it.

The Long Walk - 5/5. Heart wrenching!! But so good.

The Ugly Stepsister - 2.5/5. I like some of the aspects, but it just doesn't do anything too amazing in my opinion.

Holidays - 2/5. It's a fun watch, but it's definitely not good lol

Scare Package - 4/5. I love horror movies where I can tell that the creator loves horror movies. Some really fun segments and good kills.

Pans Labyrinth - 4.5/5. The ending threw me off a little bit, but I absolutely love the vibes.

Get Away - 4.5/5. Right up my alley. It was so funny and new and I love it. Also, I'm taking this opportunity to say I hate cult movies at this point oml they're getting so boring.

The Devils Rock - 1/5. Waste of time. The gore is great, but they ignore that to have 5000 scenes of two characters just talking.

The Silence of the Lambs - 5/5. Duh.

Scare Package 2: Rad Chads Revenge - 3/5. Any mistakes of this movie are honestly overshadowed by how passionate the filmmakers are.

Creep - 4/5. The vibes are just amazing, it's a great movie. Main characters should've kisses but IDK

Primate - 3/5. I have a huge fear of monkeys. Thank you for bringing light to how scary monkeys are.

Saw - 3.5/5. It's great, one of the most iconic twists of all time. But it's just a little messy.

Saw X - 4.5/5. I never thought I'd root for Jigsaw but this movie is just so well written.

Iron Lung - 2.5/5. I loved Mark in this movie, and any shot of the ocean was spectacular. But it is just way too long.

Companion - 5/5. A spectacular movie. And Iris is amazing. I love women getting revenge.

Superhost - 3.5/5. I love influencer horror for some reason idk. But it's very fun and there's a great villain!

Mad God - ?/5. I feel like this movie can't be rated.

All my Friends Hate Me - 1.5/5. I was loving this movie, but the ending completely ruined everything.

Send Help - 4/5. I've said it a hundred times, I love weird movies. And it has such a satisfying ending.

Dead Snow - 4/5. I didn't expect this movie to be so unique and fun! I love it.

Scream 7 - 1.5/5. Ugh.

Becky - 4/5. So so underrated!!

The Wrath of Becky - 3.5/5. A very worthy sequel, can't wait for the third one.

I'm just Fucking with You - 3.5/5. I love how fun this was. Everyone seems to hate it but I think it's great.

Shin Godzilla - 3.5/5. Best Godzilla ever. But I think we could've saved some time.

Adult Swim Yule Log - 2/5. Just watch the first 20 or so minutes. The rest kind of ruins it

I Blame Society - 1.5/5. Boring. Kind of has a fun concept but they barely do anything interesting with it.

Undertone - 1/5. Scary at the time, but after watching it's just.. nothing. It's not scary or unique or interesting.

Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead - 3/5. A good sequel! Horror comedies always make me happy.

#Chadgetstheaxe - 3/5. Reminds me of Deadstream! I like it. Some good scares, but the ending kind of falls off.

Sissy - 4.5/5. I love the main character, and just the vibes in general.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come - 1.5/5. A disgrace. I know I just said Ivan IRL has the most insufferable main character, but Faith is in the running.

Lowlifes - 2.5/5. A great concept! I wish it could've been better.

Forbidden Fruits - 1.5/5. Ugh. Stop trying to be iconic, please. You are not Mean Girls.

I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance is Mine - 3.5/5. This is a weird movie to have on this list, but it's the best of the franchise and is surprisingly good!

There is so much context needed here lol. So, I (19F) befriended someone during my senior year of highschool. They were new to my school, and I decided to let them into my friend group. I'll call them Jack. We became extremely close, like dynamic duo close lol. We had a group name and everything. But Jack had a chance meeting with my older brother (21M). We'll call him Dan. They became very close, but literally all of our friends felt like something was off.

Dan had a girlfriend of almost 5 years. Dan and Jack were doing things like holding hands, spinning hugs, sappy compliments, the whole 9 yards. Dan told his girlfriend it was just a close friendship.

It all blew up when Jack gave me a bag of brownies to deliver to Dan. I already knew something was weird, so I opened the bag. It contained a SEVEN PAGE, FRONT TO BACK, LOVE LETTER. TO MY BROTHER, IN A RELATIONSHIP.

I won't include all the details because they disgust me, but there were small doodles of them kissing and things like that. Felt nauseous. Anyway, I told Jack that we couldn't ever fix this, and we stopped talking because DUH.

Dan finally dumped his girlfriend, and started bringing Jack over to our house (we both live with our mom). My mom is amazing, so she told Dan to ask if I was comfortable with Jack being in my house.

Dan goes "wait.. why would she be uncomfortable with Jack?"

..

This man didn't know that his affair completely ruined our friendship. We haven't talked in years, and I hate them both. But this clueless fucking moron thought that everything was hunky dory or something???

Fucking idiot. Clueless, ridiculous, insane dumb ass.

How do you ruin so many relationships and be completely clueless to it???

I'm sorry for ranting, I just don't know who else to talk to.

EDIT: I'm so angry because I was friends with Dan's girlfriend, and I had to be the one to tell her whenever they did something disgusting together. That is forcing me into the situation. And Jack would constantly talk about how in love he was with my brother, even after I set clear boundaries.

EDIT2: I'm not mad that they're gay?? I'm mad because of the affair. I'm bad at writing so I'm sorry if I didn't get my point across: I HATE BOTH OF THEM IN EXTREMELY EQUAL MEASURE. IM NOT MAD THAT THEYRE GAY, IM MAD THAT THEY DRAGGED ME INTO THEIR AFFAIR AGAINST MY FRIEND.

Hi! I don't post a lot, so if this is badly written or anything I'm really sorry.

So, I've had a friend for a few years. She's pulled a bad prank in the past (calling me and telling me someone had broken into her house. Went far enough to where my mom was dialing 911 and I was genuinely scared) but she was much younger, so I forgave her and we moved on.

On April 1st, she showed me an X-ray. I'm not a doctor, so I had no idea what a tumor looked like. She tells me the doctors don't know if she has cancer or not, and she's waiting for the call for results.

Yes, I'm gullible. But we've been friends for years, and she told me it really wasn't a prank. And calling a serious diagnosis a prank felt really shitty of me. I stupidly believed her. She even got my brother to call from a fake number to pretend to be a doctor. I was on the verge of tears while they were talking, I literally couldn't breathe. But, fortunately, the "doctor" said it wasn't a tumor! I almost sobbed out of relief. I hugged her and told our friends that she was safe.

I was telling my mom about this around a year later, and my friend started looking very sheepish. My brother, oh so nonchalantly, tells me it was a prank. My friend confirmed. And I just felt so, so, so betrayed. I spent the entire day scared out of my fucking mind, just for her to make fun of me. She saw my panic, saw my tears, saw my shortness of breath.

AITA for still being mad about this? It was like a year ago, so maybe I'm overreacting. But I wanted to check because it still hurts.

TDLR: a year or so ago, my friend pranked me on April Fools by saying she might have cancer. Didn't tell me until recently, but everyone else seems to think everything is fine.

Edit: I might seem like a doormat (I am lol) but the reason I'm on the fence is that everyone else is still fine with her. My mom, my brother, my cousin even. I feel crazy ig
