Well THAT might explain the bounciness!

Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 (2019)

Just had a service, new tyres, new chain and sprockets, and then I started feeling a horrible bounciness at 30-40mph.

Took it back because I could see the tyres weren't seated (which they redid). Showed them a video (not this one) of the wobbly rear tyre and at got told:

  • Probably a worn head bearing causing the bouncey feeling in the handlebars
  • That's just the tread pattern
  • Did you have knobbly tyres before? They might feel different to road tyres
  • Tyres allow for a certain variance, about 10mm (or whatever)

They literally had the bike there in the shop and they're advice was no better than my blindly googling. I want to take it in to a different shop, but before I do I want to ask, that's not just an alignment issue right? I've loosened the axle nut and readjusted the chain and measured everything down swing arm.

Think it might be a bent rim? Frustrating because I've never felt any sort of bumpiness before I got those new tyres on.

Got new tyres the other week and theres a horrid bouncing when I get up to 40mph (hadn't noticed just going round town). It's a bumping I can feel in the front that fades in and out, like bum-bum-bum-bum...... bum-bum-bum-bum..... like I'm going over rumble strips

Thats the bead I should check, right? First pic it's right under the rim, second pic it's way out?

Frustrating, I can see they've put new balance weights on the wheels too, so they've done work to balance it but not actually put the tyre on right?
