Upcoming leaks?

I know the Googlebook was announced very recently, I know there are a ton of articles (saying a lot of the same things), and I know it is supposed to be released in the fall - but I'm still excited about the possibility of a real laptop that can compete with Windows and Mac after switching to the Android/Google ecosystem last year.

With a major new product release like this, is there a "usual" timeline where we can expect to see more leaks ramping up to the eventual launch, or is it all adhoc?

OMNY is worse than the MetroCard system

An old card I used for OMNY got flagged for fraud after I had commuted into work, and was immediately shut off.

Since I have an outstanding balance, OMNY won't let me use the replacement card from the same bank because I have a $2.90 outstanding balance that I can ONLY pay online with the old card, there is no option to use a different payment method. I have the $2.90 and will gladly pay the fare I owe, but I am not able to.

OMNY also sometimes refuses any other cards attached to my phone, since this device has the OLD card in my digital wallet. It works 50% of the time.

I have called customer service a dozen times, and each time, I have been put on hold and promptly hung up on.

OMNY card terminals are trash.

I skip fares 10x more now than I ever did under the old system.

Yes, I know I can just buy an OMNY card and I have one, but why spend as much money as MTA did for a worse system? Trains are still late, digital ad boards have been smashed, and it's a hassle even trying to give the MTA my money. Why?

Odin 3 Max - worth it

Finally got an Odin 3 (Max) and while I've only been able to use it for a couple hours, it's incredible. Got the device from a local reseller for a few bucks over the full retail cost of the unit + shipping + tpu grip + case, I viewed the extra cash as a convenience fee for skipping a 2-3 month wait, and it wasn't much more than I would have paid ordering from AYN anyway.

TLDR: if you're on the fence, go for it!

Got it set up pretty quickly (doesn't have much to do with the device itself, I've set up a few devices before) and I was able to transfer saves over from my Odin 2 Pro to pick up right where I left off.

The Odin 2 Pro handled everything I threw at it well enough (NS/TOTK would crash when the shader cache got too big or I played for too long), but I've always been impressed with emulation above N64 because it's amazing to me the community has figured all of this out and keeps trying to make things better in their free time - so some artifacts and a crash here or there never really bothered me much considering the library I had access to on a single device.

The Odin 3 had a few stutters here & there while building a shader cache but has otherwise been exceptional. It's fast, effective, and easy to use. As someone who grew up on Super Nintendo and N64, this device is dang near perfect.

I haven't installed clustertune yet but the fan hasn't bothered me so far, even though it's locked up a few times. I'd say the negativity about the fan these days (not sure about at launch) is a little over hyped. I am also pushing 40 and have been listening to/playing loud music for a very long time, so maybe the frequency just doesn't bother me.

All in I'm over the moon with this thing, and it's definitely worth the purchase!

OOT remake - boss battle theme

OOT is the best game ever made, hands down. I don't have a Switch 2 but I will absolutely shell out the money to buy a Switch 2 to play the remake.

Unless, the boss battle theme is redone poorly. That song is a core part of my childhood and I don't think I can handle a version that is poorly done, or wildly different.

Odin 3 Max vs Odin 2 Portal Pro/Max

Hi all,

I recently splurged on the Odin 3 Max via a sale on AliExpress, got a good deal and I was fine with the wait that came with it.

I currently have an Odin 2 Pro, and use it primarily for N64/NS games, mostly the LoZ titles for both systems. I don't play any PC titles or do any streaming.

My Odin 2 Pro works just fine, but I felt like treating myself to some a little nicer - the Odin 3 scratches that itch, but after seeing more and more reviews about the fan and the up/down testimonies about NS emulation, I'm starting to wonder if getting a Portal 2 Pro/Max would be the best bet.

I still have 2 weeks to cancel my Odin 3 before it ships and I go back & forth in my head about canceling or keeping every other day.

Is the Portal 2 the better option, given what I'll be suing the device for? Or should I wait things out to "future proof" my device with the new processor?
