I hope you remember me sometimes

Because once upon a time, there was someone who loved you so completely that losing you became the saddest thing I had to learn to survive. I hope one random afternoon my name crosses your mind for no reason at all. I hope you pause for a second and wonder how I've been.. if I'm finally okay, If I ever found the version of life I kept promising myself after you left.

The truth is, I'll probably spend the rest of my life finding pieces of you in places you no longer exist. In songs I'll never skip, in sunsets I'll never stop looking at. In conversations that somehow remind me of your laugh. In the quiet moments before I fall asleep, when I still catch myself wanting to tell you about my day.

And maybe that's the cruelest part.

One day you'll remember me for a moment,

But I'll spend a lifetime remembering you.
