Tales of Esperia: A DnD System for AFKJ. Draft 1
A few months back I was suddenly struck with the idea to make a dnd system for AFKJ but quite frankly I had been derailed many times along the way. But after playing through the TTRPG quest in this season, I felt obligated to finish up this project and present it to the community for notes, interest, and approval.
The idea behind Tales of Esperia is to facilitate creating characters akin to many of your favorite playable heroes in the game, with the exception of course of hypogeans or Celestials (Though I did design some subclasses around playstyles of members of those races). The system is also designed to heavily indulge in an ULT system that would help evoke the feeling of the gameplay, which I'm sure we've all seen usually involves spamming your ULTs as often as you can lol. (The twins and Tlalene meta used to go crazy.) To this end I added an energy system which I am still leaving open to interpretation. My two current ideas are to either: Roll a number of d4 at the end of your turn equal to your proficiency bonus to increase your energy meter. To add points to your energy meter with every action (full movement, attack, reaction, saving throw, bonus action, etc.) equal to your proficiency bonus. Or potentially tie generation rate to an ability score. I'd love to hear others inputs on this matter and what they think may be the best way to manager this resource.
Initially I had plans for a campaign I was interested in recruiting for, and while I still may want to explore this one day, I am currently running another campaign that is heavily homebrewed and I'm not sure I could manage a second as well as my myriad other projects. To that end if anyone else is interested in running or playing a session with this system I would highly encourage it. I would love to see this system be tested and to receive input that can be used to improve future drafts. Ammending the races, backgrounds and subclasses to expand options and react to the ever growing cast. If anyone does pursue the usage of this system I would like to request being kept in the loop, being able to sit in on sessions or discussion or even suggest ideas for campaigns to those who may be interested,

We need more Witch Oc
Quite frankly we need more monster oc too but I feel witch is easier to start with. We see so many weapon and meister oc or "whose the weapon" posts, but let's look at witches more! If you have oc and fanart of witches id love to see them but I also want to encourage people to make themselves as witches down below. Or if you want help post a bit about yourselves and I'll try to think of an animal and type of magic that fits!
Also for this discussion I'll be ignoring the female rule, guys deserve to wear miniskirts and pointed hats too ya know lol.
So for me I identify with dogs/wolves and lions most. Im a Leo born in the year of the dog. My element is absolutely fire. I try to be considerate but I'm also fierce and independent. I have adhd so I'm energetic and playful sometimes bordering on manic. Considering that wolves is already taken by freed ill go with lions and I'll pair with him by making it fire related magic, or even 'solar' magic as lions and their manes are sometimes paired with the sun. I think fun design details would be a leather jacket with a fur collar reminiscent of a lions mane, messy dirty blond hair, and pronounced canines and finger nails.
I think fun spells to use would be a solar flare, flaming claws, a lions roar would be fun but a sonic attack feels off so maybe rings of fire or a wave of heat?. I think the spell word could be leo lions or something.
Id love to hear your guys thoughts!
Edit: just thought of a great spell i wish I thought of sooner: mirage Haze. It creates an illusion made of hot air to distract a target. Because lions are ambush predators so itd make so much sense to create a distraction before starting a fight.

I was listening to a podcast today talking about the latest episode and they mentioned making pairs for each other which got my mind going on what pair I might like to have or might fit me, so I thought id open up the discussion in the community.
Do you have any fun ideas for tsugai you'd want or think would fit you well?
My idea was comedy and tragedy, a pair inspired by the masks who might manifest as either the masks floating or as fancily dressed actors wearing the masks. I would imagine they'd have the ability to induce euphoria and depression respectively but I'm still not certain on the mechanic. Does it require they put on an act? Or maybe they just have to laugh or cry to induce the feeling in a target. What do you guys think?
