Embarrassment
While I held your hands, I glanced into your eyes,
A touch so soft, like nothing I’d known before.
That gaze told stories… though not all were true,
And still, I chose to listen more.
Was it a farewell to my heart?
To love itself, a quiet goodbye?
Or just a moment, breaking slow,
Too heavy for a feeble heart like mine?
Unsaid words fell into silence,
Hearts were close, yet minds apart.
I felt a stranger to myself, to you,
Even in that tender touch.
This love made guilt of something pure,
Perhaps too deep, perhaps too much.
Forgive me, I am ashamed,
For a sin I never bore alone.
