I just want to share my thoughts with a very generous thankyou attached to it.

Hello everyone!

Mods, I can remove this post if it doesn't fit well with the overall decorum of this sub.

My mother got diagnosed with gliosarcoma in oct 2023(56 years old at the time of diagnosis). I didn't know anything about that and googled it. It was the worst feeling of my life. Doctors did the surgery with the gtr and she didn't had any problems apart from talking like a kid at times. Prognosis was not very good as it was idh wildtype. Things went quite well. She did a month of radio plus chemo, then 12 months of chemo. With the ninth cycle of chemo she started to get edema and radiation necrosis. We got some 10 months of clean mris before it though. Things started to deteriorate and in the end she got pneumonia then seizures, sepsis and in the end cardiac arrest. She lived 23 months with us after that diagnosis. It's been 9 months since she is gone. And I can't thank the doctors enough for all the extended time they gave to my mother. I have read a lot of stories on the internet about how cruel this can be. And interacted with some patients on reddit too. Odds were against us but we still got some extremely valuable time together all because of the doctors giving great treatment. I know it's not looking great with how things are developing with the gbm, but I really hope to see a cure for it in my lifetime. I have a lot of respect for all the good work all of you are doing. Sorry for such a long post. Thanks again!
