These are the criteria for what I am looking for:

1. Smart Male and Female Lead

2. Great communication and trust in the male and female lead

3. Putting anyone who acts out in place or punishing them

4. Prefer historical dramas over modern dramas

5. Every villian should be recieve punishment or retribution

6. MUST HAVE A HAPPY ENDING

I am open to all genres and time settings. Dramas that I have watched that kinds match this are

1. Story of Minglan

2. Love like the Galaxy

3. Coroner's Diary

4. Maiden Holmes

5. Splendid match (on going)

6. Si Jin

7. The double

I do watch a lot of historical dramas so my list reflects the same but open to dramas from any time period and even fantasy dramas.

I was super excited about this drama. I loved BWS as Sunjae and Ryu Si O. IU as an actress has never disappointed me in terms of the scripts she chooses. When life gives you tangerines is an 11/10 drama for me.

The Perfect Crown has :

-A good main cast with a strong fan base, media pull and good acting skills

- Stellar supporting cast - all the actors are very good

- a big budget

- no clashes with any other major releases

On paper this drama should be a hit....but it's not. It's just not working for me. I am not sure if it is the script, pacing or the direction. This drama is underwhelming to say the least and to think that this was one of the most anticipated releases of the year, it is honestly disappointing.

The worst part is that the actors will receive all the heat but the people who are really at fault will not be blamed infuriates me. What are your thoughts on this drama?

Edit:

1. I have no issues with the ACTING in this drama
2. I have no issues with the GENRE of this drama.
3. I am not using their previous works as a benchmark and comparing the Perfect Crown to their previous work

This drama is not ENGAGING to me. It is not making me count days till the next episode drops! That is my issue and I want to see if anyone else has the same issue.

To me it is a good drama but not a great one.

I am looking for some insights from people who are experiencing the same issue. That's it.

For everyone who is enjoying this show, I am happy for you! I wish I was also losing sleep over this drama but I am not and that is the issue for me.
