Vito’s Pizza on Old Milton
I went there today mainly because it just happened to be on the way home after picking up our daughter. Not bad at all especially the crust which was crispy and chewy inside.

How’s fishing at the river below the Morgan Falls dam?
So I dropped off our daughter at Alpharetta HS and stopped by at Shibam coffee nearby to try it out. I’ve been curious about the place for years. Nice interior and overall warm ambience. I ordered Turkish coffee. Some spice taste but luckily not overpowering. The coffee mouthfeel felt heavy. I later learned that unfiltered coffee has more natural oil and fine particles so that’s why. I thought it was good and looking forward to trying out their other styles of coffee.
At that long strip mall by Sweet Hut. How’s the broth/meat/noodle at Bac?
How many of you prefer Caribou to Starbucks? I went to the one in Milton because I had an hour to kill before going to Costco in the morning and have to say the vibe was nice and cozy and coffee tasted fine too. At least in my uneducated taste.
I know this is a broad general question with as many answers as there are marines. Did many of you return to your home of record state after discharge or settle near the base or go to a completely different state and city? I was a reservist so it wasn’t an issue and you ended up living not far from some of the guys and gals you served with. It was funny running into them at local Publix and Walmart some weekend.
I served 1999 - 2004. Reservist and activated for OIF 2003. How many of you found a significant other in the Corps (active or reserve) and how did it turn out?
Does anyone remember that taekwondo instructor in Marietta who was jailed for inappropriate relationship with a young student? Do you know his whereabouts? I believe he was released on probation not long ago.
There’s the bridge on Hwy 76 and Macedonian Baptist church nearby. Has anyone fished around the bridge?
After receiving many good recommendations about coffee in Alpharetta I decided to go to Fuel today. Mainly because I happened to be near Costco which is close to Fuel. Good service nice decor and mood lightened by a patron who brought his cute golden retriever who behaved while the owner was sipping coffee and working on laptop. Chorizo burrito was nice not too salty. Americano coffee was good a decent body but not too bitter. Went ahead and bought a bag of Ethiopian grind at the shop.
Clearly you can make this out of any grocery store ingredient:
2 cups of black beans soaked
1 large spoon of Better Than Bouillon chicken stock paste
1 large spoon of ramen seasoning powder
A handful of salted scrap meat. My wife doesn’t want fat or gristle on her pork chop so I trim them away and salt and freeze them.
Put above ingredients into Instant Pot. Cook it over two cycles. Serve over rice. Quite filling nutritious and cheap
What’s your opinion on Photastic on State Bridge Road? I’ve had it couple of times and couldn’t complain but I feel like they are not the top notch.
Yep 99.9% of the time I drink my house coffee which is usually from Sam’s club and occasional Starbucks whole beans. But I’m curious as to if there are some good coffee shops in Alpharetta other than Starbucks so I can get a sense of good quality brew. Thanks!
Where can I get a good baguette in North Fulton?
Have you attended any of the seminars by Steve Ubl sensei? I’ve heard they were amazing and opened a lot of insights. What are some of the concepts he covered?
Where can I go to catch flounder along the GA coast? I intend to shore fish.
Yep just as the title says. I’ve had Pho in various places and including out of state (Boston Chinatown was probably my favorite so far) and still looking for the ultimate. Johns Creek recommendation is welcome to even though it’s not in Gwinnett. Thanks!
After much procrastination we are going to Yellow Stone and Grand Teton in July and we are quite excited. We will be flying into Bozeman airport in Montana and driving the rental car down to YS. Are there any nice places to stop by on the way to YS like a scenic area in south Montana?
I’ve heard from someone and also read somewhere that being in the military and especially the marine corps can cause a person to lose all common sense. I know this is a broad generalization (is it?) but do you think there’s some truth to it? If so why does it happen?
I’ve heard it’s good and the serving size is generous. Looking forward to trying it out. What do you recommend?
