Death Ray Designs LLC Socials... with bonus Snowmobile Footage

Hey all, back with an update on the rechargeable battery packs!

I saw a lot of good feedback on my prototype, I really enjoyed reading through the comments. I'm waiting on the cerakoter to get my sample back to me, and then I'll make a post addressing Questions/Comments/Concerns with images of the production model.

In the meantime, I wanted to drop links to our socials and site.

A lot of this is pretty bare bones, dont judge me I'm a MechE not a code monkey

Also wanted to post this sick footage I've been sitting on: my homie and I riding snowmachines on a frozen lake in Maine.

The mountain you see is Mount Katahdin, which is the Northernmost point of the Appalachian Trail. We also got to see the Northern Lights, only visible under NODs at that point. Interestingly enough, my buddy's Russian AGM tubes were not able to see the lights, but my Elbits did just fine.

Cheers bros, enjoy. I love you.

New Product Alert!

Hey all,

I got tired of paying for batteries, and decided to fix that. These are photos of a personal project of mine that I have decided to bring to market:

A USB-C Rechargeable Power Bank

Lithium batteries are expensive, and in an extended collapse or contested supply chain scenario, are guaranteed to be scarce. This battery pack takes them entirely out of the equation by offering a power solution wherever you can find a USB port.

In one of these insane scenarios, a wall outlet may also not be available. I have tested and confirmed that this can be recharged both by portable battery bank and solar, meaning that until the sun falls out of the sky you'll have power for your night vision.

This battery bank (which does not have a good name yet, sound off in the comments) comes with other quality of life upgrades:

Greatly Extended runtime

  • Almost 3x the PVS-31 AA pack and GPNVG CR123 pack
  • Also great for powering head-mounted thermals with a splitter cable

USB-A port for peripherals

  • Thermals, Recorders, phones, speakers, portal guns...

The production models are 3d-printed in Engineering-Grade material and on their way to be Cerakoted for environmental protection.

My initial run will be for 10 units, at an introductory price of $150. I am not trying to get rich off of this, I mainly want to bring this to market to support this community of likeminded nerds who like to see in the dark.

Thanks for your time, sound off in the comments with interests, questions, or a good name for this project. Website coming by the end of the week. Call your dad this fathers day.

I love you.
