How I would write Gameoverse

I want to start off by saying that I don’t hate the pilot of Gameoverse; I just think it’s kinda meh. It has good animation, but like with other Glitch pilots, it tries to cram a lot of stuff into a single episode, which unfortunately makes it hard for me to really care about the character’s struggles in the moment since we’re not given much time with them. So that’s why I made this rewrite, splitting everything that was shoved into the pilot into 3 distinct episodes. I won’t be changing the general plot or characters, just modifying the pacing of the overall story to try and give more emotional weight to the characters. Also, I consider myself to be a novice writer, so don’t assume that I believe my version of the story is flawless and objectively superior to anything that has ever been written. I don’t think that at all; this is just how I would go about introducing the world and characters of Gameoverse.

Episode 1
Instead of being half a minute and a fight scene, Kit’s backstory should be expanded into a full episode where we follow her and Kabootle’s adventure through their game world. This gives more time to naturally build up the relationship between Kit and Kabootle as well as their connection with the other residents of their game world. Kit, Kabootle, and co. all work together to clear hordes of enemies and defeat bosses until Kit and Kabootle head off on their own to save their world once and for all. It all plays out like a classic adventure until the end of the episode, where the fight scene against Kit’s final boss happens almost exactly like in the pilot, and then the true nature of the show is revealed as everything begins to crumble around them. They are saved by the same mysterious figure that saved them in the actual pilot, and they are finally told what their world is really a part of… The Gameoverse.

Episode 2
The episode starts off much like the pilot, but instead this will be Kit’s actual first mission for whoever she’s working for, which will be explained immediately along with generally everything else that was explained in the pilot about how the Gameoverse mechanically works. I don’t see any reason to hide who Kit is working for outside of building up faux intrigue in a pilot that's already crammed full of stuff. This means we’d get to be introduced to characters not shown in the pilot, but since we haven’t seen them yet, I won’t go into detail about them here. Kit and Kabootle are told the gist of how the game worlds work and are sent down to help the villain defeat the hero. The game world they are sent to is actually Gobbles’ game world. I think it’s pretty obvious why I’ve made this change. Gobbles’ backstory should not be relegated to just a teaser if he’s going to be a main character. This is also where Miss Information and Fold are introduced, who show up to help Gobbles. I would rather not introduce the main antagonist all at once. Unlike with Kit’s employers, I think there is actual intrigue that can be built by having the antagonist of the series’ goals hidden for a bit. Anyway, the villains are going to have to carry most of the comedy for the episode because everything else about this episode will just be about Kit and Kabootle’s trauma. Kit would obviously be conflicted about helping the villains throughout the episode and get various PTSD flashbacks like in the pilot but would continue pushing herself to do what needs to be done. Kabootle constantly tells Kit that she needs to take a moment to breathe and process everything that's happened instead of just jumping into another adventure, but Kit just keeps going without stopping or thinking because that's all she knows how to do to avoid her grief. Eventually, due to Kit hesitating due to her trauma, Gobbles completes his game world’s main quest, and Kit has to pull herself together to save as many people as she can. Now on a ship overlooking the now-destroyed game world, Kit and Kabootle finally just sit and talk about everything that's happened and have a heart-to-heart. Eventually, Gobbles joins them, and they all sit there and grieve together in shared loss as the episode ends. This section was a lot longer since I had to make a lot of stuff up for Gobble’s backstory episode since, like I said, all we currently have is a teaser.

Episode 3
Alright, now we're finally at the events of the pilot with Flappers the super dolphin, and all that stuff. Because we handled Kit’s backstory and introduced Miss Information and Fold in the previous episodes, we have a lot more room to focus on each character's plot, but I specifically want to focus a lot more on Gobbles and how he’s dealing with everything. Like in the pilot, Kabootle doesn’t think Gobbles can be of any help to them since he can’t fight and still doesn’t really know what’s going on or how anything works, but this should be given a lot more importance to better emphasize that Gobbles’ strength isn’t fighting but his emotional intelligence and ability to learn and why that is necessary to have in the group. Gobbles' getting more focus would elevate his speech that he gives to Kit when she starts having flashbacks and really show his strengths and weaknesses. Besides that, it all generally plays out like the pilot.

Conclusion
Well, that's basically it. That's what I would do if I was given the story and characters of Gameoverse and told to write the first 3 episodes of it. To me, this version feels a lot more well paced and better introduces the world to the audience, but tell me what you think. Like I said, I'm a novice writer, so any constructive critiques are welcome.

Mainly based off of vibes. While I’m here, can I just say that while I appreciate how much everyone ships Vanessa x Vanny, I feel as though not as many people ship Fritz and Michael as they should. They have genuine chemistry on the good route that I feel not many people explore. That’s all.

Standing here, I realize
You are just like me trying to make history
But who's to judge the right from wrong?
When our guard is down, I think we'll both agree
That violence breeds violence
But in the end, it has to be this way

Started my Lunatic ultimate ending run, but I'm a little confused as to what upgrades I should buy to give me the easiest time on the boss. Obviously spawn killer and all ears are good, and all upgrades to Mendo's shop are useless since he's disabled during the boss. What I'm wondering is do upgrades like headstart work? The night is only two minutes, so having animatronics disabled for 30 seconds is basically removing 1/4 of the night. Late Start specifically says it starts the night at 12:30 AM, so does it just make the boss fight longer?
