Penalty rates

I recently did 3 years on a working holiday visa in Australia and worked as a cook in cafes and restaurants. Over there they apply a penalty rate on Saturdays and Sundays where you get paid more hourly. Saturdays was a slight increase and Sundays was a substantial increase. Now that I am back in Canada it feels kinda shit that I constantly work weekends and dont see any extra money. What are the chances something like this ever gets integrated?

Just played with Compass only

Changes the game completely when wandering the world. Instead of going straight to a way point on your map, you are literally deciding in real time where to go. Left, right, up that hill? What's that noise over there? With headphones and a bit of beer and weed in me, that was quite an experience.

Has anyone lost their attention span and maybe even interest in film and then rediscovered it?

I remember when I was graduating high school and really just starting to get into proper film. I was raised well and grew up in the 90s so think Aliens, Terminator, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, etc etc, that was all there in my childhood.

Then I started becoming interested in more adult cinema, I got heavily into Martin Scorsese, Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola, I basically scanned the iMDB Top 250 and tried to watch whatever interested me on that list.

I am now 36 and I still love film. I have just noticed that with social media and smart phones frying our brains and attention span I have a harder time these days sitting down and really focusing on a film (unless its something I have really been wanting to watch).

Anyone have similar issues recently? It goes for books too. I have no trouble playing hours of video games but alot of films these days dont grab my attention like they used to.

How did Heath Ledger and Jake Gylenhaal not both win Oscars for Brokeback?

That movie is insanely good on rewatch. Their characters feel SO lived in and real. Career best work from them both (aside from maybe Ledgers work as Joker)
