Who should have won Charm School 3?

Just rewatched CS3 and as it concluded, I'm not sure the right person won.

Don't get me wrong, I love Risky, but I think she was one of those "doesn't really need CS" girls. Other girls that fit into this category are Goldie, Jessica, Bubbles, and maybe Kristy Jo, but they all got eliminated before the last couple episodes.

Watching the last few episodes and especially listening to their speeches, I was really impressed by Ashley and Marcia.

As someone who struggles with alcohol dependency, Marcia really persevered through that detox and I loved her honesty and realism at F4 elimination when she responded about having drinks in the future if she felt could manage it. Watching Ashley during the family visit with her adorable little boy and opening up to James seemed very authentic and mature as well.

On the other hand, Risky seemed like a class act throughout both shows.

Do you think Risky was the right choice? Why or why not?

The mystery of the true Bert Merkels.

I'm on bed rest after surgery and I've been rewatching all 3 ROL seasons. I could (and may) make a longer post of ridiculous and cringe talking points, but I have wondered for a while...

Obviously, Brett comes off like an egotistical, shallow, and insecure chode in these shows. I don't really believe that he's such a good actor that all the butthurt (Justin Timberlake, Charles, old girls clapping for the 3 new girls) is for the cameras. He's also just so gross in every way that he must have VERY little self awareness, right?

However, I've read (on the internet, grain of salt) that he actually is a kind and congenial person that treats his fans well and is charitable in real life. At the very least, I've never heard of any instances of him being as obnoxious as he came across in the shows.

Has anyone else thought about this? Its made it a bit difficult for me to form an opinion on him as a person. What do you think?

Your favorite underrated contestant quote/moment?

I recently rewatched Fiji (not a huge fan), and while I hate how Rocky treated Anthony (one of my faves, Kid Cudi vibes), I absolutely howled at this moment that I missed the first time:

"I think you should push over a little bit, unless you wanna make out." The dry and fed up delivery is everything.

What's your favorite UNDERRATED contestant quote or moment?

Don't they know that they're toxic?

Sorry, not very savvy with posting pictures and all. I (maybe?) joined the Britney sub years ago and talked about her music (fan at 6). I got up today and thought I was posting in this sub. Damn you, for suggesting a bunch of subs you think are relevant but I didn't ask for.

Eta: I don't roll around on the floor and act like a total jackass waiting for the laundry; I just listen to a song and dance while no one is watching... I can never watch these videos in their entirety and commented too soon.

Second Chances ep. 4 reward challenge

When I think of my favorite Survivor challenges, this one always comes to my mind. However, I've decided to rewatch and am now wondering...

Why were those players chosen to be the participant/hero?

Angkor chose Savage over Woo.

Ta Keo chose Deitz over Joe.

Bayon chose Jeremy over Reiman (fka Spencer).

They're all capable and one of two obvious choices, but I feel like each alternative was probably a better bet.

Do you think the tribes were thinking of the typical "no player can sit out a challenge twice in a row" rule? No stipulations on participants/sit-outs made the edit, but it leaves me a bit puzzled.

What do you think?

Who do you think would have won if those alternatives were chosen instead?

Either way, I love watching the underdog overcome in this challenge and I always well up when Tasha does. Truly a hero moment and a very entertaining challenge!

General consensus on Mike Holloway? [Spoilers]

I'm new to this sub and while I'm not new to reddit, I stick to the same few subs and don't really know much about nuanced subs. What differentiates this sub from /survivor? If this post is inappropriate here I apologize.

[S30 WORLD'S APART SPOILERS]

I've watched the season twice (rewatch just last week) and I really like him as a winner. Generally likable, a good personification of blue collar, underdog story, and he basically crushed it.

However, I've read some real heavy criticisms that seem kind of unfair:

-He only made it to FTC because he won 5/6 immunities and had an idol. / Yes, but... that's part of the game and he excelled and prevailed. I don't understand why this is perceived as a weakness.

-The edit made it obvious he was going to win. / When I first watched, I didn't think it was obvious. I was rooting for him and expecting him to lose once or twice and get voted off (comparable to Ozzy, Rupert who have good edits and make it real far but not quite there), so I was really surprised and delighted when he made it to FTC.

-His social game sucked. / I don't think it was the worst, and I've read (grain of salt) that it wasn't even the auction thing that made the rest of the tribe want to vote him out, but his generally likability and threat level. I do hate to see someone completely ostracized from the group socially; that must be really difficult. He still tried and still pulled it off.

What's the general consensus on his win? How do you personally feel about it?

Your Favorite Intro Shots?

These are the three that stick out most to me. I may be biased because Tyson is my favorite contestant ever, but... his intro in Tocantins IS one of the best ever! I didn't include Debbie from Tocantins because that's like a gimme.

I think overall Tocantins and Gabon had probably the best intros ever. What do you think? Individually or entirely.
