I see mixed news on drug testing tourists at bars and hotels. I'm planning on visiting Saigon to see some friends for a week at the end of August. I don't really party but smoke in Thailand sometimes.
What is the likelihood of getting tested just going to restaurants and chilling at my hotel?
I've recently acquired a large parcel of rough ruby and sapphire after buying equity in a distressed mine in South America.
Currently I am slowly moving the entire lot to my new base of operations in Bangkok.
For major wholesalers, how do you decide what to pitch your lots at? Just comparables based on colour, size and origin in the market? There are also essentially no comparables of the same origin from South America in the market here as well.
I've developed a lot of contacts over the last 6 months living here but I don't know what to ask for KGs of ruby and sapphire to stay in the strongest negotiating position.
So far I've mostly just been soliciting offers without saying what I'm asking because I find appraisals for rough lots don't seem to be taken seriously in the market anyway.
Is shopping parcels around in Chanthaburi and JTC for the best offers the most efficient way sell rough wholesale?
I recently ended up taking a small equity position in a mine in Brazil. I'm mostly involved on the end user / sales side of the business but I am trying to learn as much as possible about the operations and management side of the business.
