Tan Son Nhat Airport back in the olden days. If you're from Saigon, do you prefer to say phi trường or sân bay?

Today I had the opportunity to provide a massage therapy session for a foreign client in Thao Dien, District 2, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

She has been working in an office for many years, spending long hours sitting at a desk. As a result, she has suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain, persistent lower back pain, and the discomfort has gradually developed into sciatica, causing numbness that radiates down one of her legs.
During the session, I focused on releasing muscle tension, improving blood circulation, and helping her body relax through therapeutic massage techniques. By the end of the treatment, she said her shoulders felt much lighter, her back was more relaxed, and the numbness in her leg had eased.
It’s always rewarding to help people find relief from long-term pain and improve their quality of life.

Specialty coffee in Saigon?

Are there any good roasteries or third-wave coffee places in Saigon? Good breakfast and brunch places are welcome too!

Thank you :)

Job options in Saigon

Hi everyone,
I’m interested in finding a job in Ho Chi Minh City and was wondering what opportunities might be available for someone with my background.
I am fluent in both English and Vietnamese, completed my primary and secondary education in Australia, and have also taken the PTE English test if that helps. I have experience living in both Australia and Vietnam, so I’m comfortable communicating and working in both languages.
I’m open to different types of roles but would ideally like to make use of my bilingual skills.
For those who are currently working in HCMC, what industries or companies tend to value strong English and Vietnamese language skills? Are there any websites, recruiters, or job boards you would recommend?
Any advice, personal experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We want to introduce our boutique nail studio in Phú Nhuận district. We don’t speak fluent English, but Google Translate helps us to communicate and get your nails done perfectly.

Hey everyone,

We are Kem’s Nails boutique nail studio located at 133A Thích Quảng Đức - 1st floor (Đức Nhuận ward, Phú Nhuận district).

But if you want high-standard nail art, a relaxing, charming space, and a genuine local experience where you can just show a photo and let a professional do her magic via Google Translate, we are your spot! Our tech is also happy to share her favorite local HCMC recommendations through the app if you are looking for hidden gems.

Glasses

Hello everyone,

I’ll be traveling to Ho Chi Minh City soon and would like to get a pair of prescription glasses made to bring back to the United States. Does anyone have recommendations for reputable optical shops with good quality lenses, frames, and reasonable prices?

Thank you!

Prescription medication

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to ask a question with regards to bringing prescription medication into Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat airport. I've seen some places say that the maximum supply you can bring for some medication (such as ADHD meds) is a 10 day supply. But, in the Vietnam Embassy website it just states "People with medication you should have the doctor’s prescription and a letter from your doctor stating that you are required to take the medication and the medication will be in its original packaging."

I'm planning on staying in Vietnam for 60-90 days and was wondering if anybody has had experience with bringing in their ADHD meds? What's the process like in the airport? Did you go through the customs (I believe it's referred to as the red line) or just straight through security (green line?).
