I recently got into this series and it’s literally the coolest thing ever and has inspired me to do my OWN research on the Mongol empire and the golden age of Islam! It’s so interesting and I really love history in general so this was a great series for me to get into.
Also I’m half Persian in my dad’s side so it was also cool to see Persian rep in media portrayed so beautifully 🥹🥹

Princess and Prince of the Sun-Kissed Isles (fanmade kingdom)
I might do a lore post in the future, because I don’t wanna dump it all in one post. I really do love these two them and their family mean so much to me.
I suppose some little fun facts couldn’t hurt 😏
- Aïssatou goes by “Ai” sometimes
- The Sun-Kissed Isles are inspired by the Sahara Desert and the Yoruba culture of West Africa
- Aïssatou’s story takes place a couple years in the future where Sonic is an adult (around 25) and he’s somewhat of a mentor figure to her.
- When Ai was born, she was declared as dead for several hours until they finally managed to get her breathing. Since then, she’s had a pretty sheltered life within the Palace and doesn’t have any friends besides a handful of maids
- Ayaan, on the contrary, has a lot of friends and is known for being very charismatic.
- Ayaan lost his tail and vision in his right eye after being captured and tortured by Eggman; his right knee was also so damaged that he’ll never be able to run again.
- Aïssatou is incredibly fast. Not nearly as fast as Sonic but she’s one of the fastest Cheetahs the royal family has seen in years
- Ai is allergic to avocados, but since they don’t grow in the Sun-Kissed Isles, she found out the hard way
- Aïssatou is Asexual and Aromantic, and her brother is bisexual
- They have a similar version of the chaos emeralds known as the Griot Masks (or Seven Masks of Chaos). Eggman tortured Ayaan in an effort to find the masks, take complete control over the land and turn the kingdom into a city in his own image. However, due to a translation error, Ayaan didn’t even really know what he was talking about for a good while.
- There “ancient” tongue is a language similar to both Yoruba, Kanuri and Kanembu in Nigeria and the Saharan branch of Africa. English is the default language, but this ancient language is spoken mostly in celebration, formal ceremonies, prayer and as terms for endearment or respect. It’s also used for describing something new or unknown; like naming a new idea or species (Think like, making a word for ‘The day before yesterday’)
- King Amadu (Ai and Ayaan’s father) had two fathers and was a surrogate.
- There are other cheetahs aside from the Royal family that simply don’t live in The Capital.
- There are 7 main islands and several groups of smaller islands that make up The Isles.
- Both siblings really, and I mean REALLLLLY hate Eggman. Not in the same way Sonic and Tails are always there to stop Eggman’s plan with a quip and smirk like it’s GENUINELY on sight. At least with Ai, Ayaan still has some crippling CPTSD he’s gotta work through real quick.
- Ayaan is older than Ai by 3 years.

It’s been less than 24 hours since my last post, but I’m bored so for fun here are some of my favorite scenes thus far from my school assignments turned half-hatred half-passion project, The Great Kingdom Of Gatsby. A small children’s version of the book that asked the question nobody asked: “What if everyone in The Great Gatsby was a child under the age of 10 and left under zero adult supervision?”
For an end of the year school project, we have to make a children’s book surrounding a similar story and themes as the Great Gatsby. So, I decided to make them all small children in between 7-10 (with the exception of Wolfsheim who is a rebellious teenage boy) although I like to draw and write, I HATE THIS PROJECT because she gave us TOO MUCH TO DO AND TOO LITTLE TIME, so I had fun with it and made it “woke”. The project is due pretty soon actually, but for motivation I figured I’d share it with other Gatsby enthusiasts.
The story is basically young Nick Carraway stays with his cousin Daisy in their wealthy rich neighborhood over the summer where he sees a bunch of kids pretending to be kings and queens in medieval times, especially “Tom” who is the King and Daisy is Queen. Nick, however, becomes curious of a large treehouse in the forest across from Daisy’s house that hosts large parties and is known as “The Great Kingdom Of Gatsby”. When he finally meets Gatsby, he realizes that he is just an awkward yet well-meaning outcast who just wants his best friend (Daisy) back.
Post is spoiled because child Gatsby eats non-vegan lemon cakes with an egg allergy (unbeknownst to Gatsby, given to him by George; He thought it was a gift from Daisy) and gets a severe allergic reaction. He doesn’t die but he sure ain’t having a good time.
