Anyone with the same situation? Advice? Am I crossing boundaries?

I’ve gone through a rabbit hole with different threads of step parents and have noticed my situation is quite different from a lot of people so I thought I’d just ask if anyone else’s experience as a step parent has been the same.

I 24(F) no kids is living with my partner 27(M) with 50/50 custody (no court order just a mutual agreement) of his two boys (4 & 6). I’ve been in their lives for about 2 years now and consider myself quite involved and basically a mom or a bonus mom while they’re over here and sometimes even as help for the bio mom on her days. (School events, needing picked up, etc.)

I bathe them, change them, make their lunches, drop them off, watch them while dad is at work, discipline, the whole 9 yards, and I love it. That’s not to say there’s not challenges, there’s a ton, but I would never consider for a second going full NACHO because for me and this situation, I felt I chose this life and this position of being with someone with kids, so I’d like to take on the role of being another parent, but according to Reddit, this isn’t a good thing to do because they already have a mom.

But the thing is, I would never try to replace her, I just look at it like it takes a village to raise children and I want to be apart of that village, and from what I can tell, the bio mom has no issue with this especially considering it seems to be that way at her house as well with her partner being involved with his own children and their “theirs baby.”

Does this kind of experience seem similar to anyone else’s? And even if not is there any advice I can receive on how to handle things as the kids get older (considering I would imagine it only gets harder)

Can Cold Sores be this small?

I took valacyclovir and applied ice to the area as soon as I felt the tingling. Valacyclovir has stopped my cold sores from forming before but this time I still feel tightness in the area and this little guy is there. I’ve been out in the sun as well a lot so I’m unsure if it’s simply apart of dryness. Has anyone had a cold sore that’s barely visible before?
