Shaping raw wood and resin for a handmade pendant

Working on a new handmade moon and star pendant. This is Part 1 showing the raw wood shaping, carving, and oiling process to bring out the natural grains before the final resin polish. Let me know what you think of the progress so far.

Tried blue and green first, but switched both to green! What do you guys think?

Working on this wood and resin pendant. This is just the result right after wet sanding (buffing and final polish are still left).

I initially tried a blue and green combo, but the blue wasn't giving the right feel with the wood grain. So, I changed both to green. How do you guys like this look?

Testing a new idea: hand-carved wood pendant with two resin domes

I’m experimenting with a new pendant design using a small piece of natural wood and two recessed resin domes.

This is only a test piece, so the wood finishing and resin colours aren’t final yet. The clear resin was mainly used to test the shape, depth and overall look.

For the final versions, I’m thinking of making the resin domes in different colours and designs — maybe blue, green, red, galaxy-style, etc.

I’m still figuring out the final shape and finish, but I like the idea of combining hand-carved wood with small resin elements.

What do you think of the basic concept?

The One Thing I Was Worried About Actually Happened

The one thing I was worried about actually happened. The resin leaked during casting and ruined the internal swirl pattern I was trying to create.

Everything else turned out the way I wanted, but because of the resin leak, I'm not satisfied with the final result. I'll make another version and keep improving until I achieve the result I originally envisioned.

Thank you all for your continued support. It truly means a lot and motivates me to keep creating and improving.

Trying a new pendant design. What do you think?

Started with a simple sketch and a few rough blanks, and this is where the design is now. They're still a work in progress—I still need to do more shaping, sanding, and polishing. I'd really appreciate your honest feedback. Which one do you like best, and what would you change before I finish them?

First attempt at a wood and resin eagle pendant. Looking for carving advice.

This is my first attempt at a wood and resin eagle pendant. These are rough blanks and a simple concept sketch before I start carving.

I'm trying just one prototype before making the full collection. My current workspace isn't ideal because I'm still dealing with resin leaks during casting, so I'm taking it one piece at a time.

If this first piece turns out well, I'll make the rest of the color variations. If not, I'll probably move on to a different design, maybe daggers.

Before I start carving, does the overall silhouette read as an eagle? I'd really appreciate any suggestions on the head, beak, proportions, or anything else that could improve the design.

My latest handmade resin whale tail pendant inspired by the ocean

I wanted to create a simple ocean-inspired necklace with a clean and minimal look. This whale tail pendant was handmade from resin, carefully shaped, sanded, and polished by hand until it became crystal smooth. I really enjoy making nature-inspired jewelry, and this is one of my latest pieces. I'd love to know what you think and what colors or ocean-themed designs you'd like to see next.

I handcrafted a translucent resin whale tail pendant inspired by the ocean. What do you think?

I recently finished this handmade resin whale tail pendant inspired by the ocean and marine life. The pendant is shaped and polished by hand to create a smooth translucent finish with a minimal, nature-inspired design. I enjoy combining resin with handmade craftsmanship to create wearable art, and I'd love to hear your honest feedback. Any suggestions for improving the design, finish, or overall look are welcome.

My resin mold leaked... so I decided to experiment with what was left.

My resin mold leaked while curing, and these were the pieces left inside the mold. Instead of throwing them away, I started shaping them by hand to see what they could become. I still have no idea what the final design will be, but I thought it would be fun to experiment. I'd love to hear your ideas!

I finished two handmade wood and resin pendants. Which design do you like more?

I make handmade wood and resin jewelry as a hobby and I'm trying to improve my craftsmanship with every piece. These are two of my latest pendants—one inspired by a whale tail and the other a wood/resin heart. I'd really appreciate honest feedback on the design, cord, and overall look. Which one would you wear and what would you improve?

Experimenting with a Nature-Inspired Wood Pendant (Pyrography, Moss & Resin)

Trying something completely different with this practice piece.

The plan is to smooth the wood, add light pyrography shading, place a little moss powder in the carved areas, and finish it with transparent green and clear resin.

I'm aiming for a natural forest-inspired look while keeping the wood grain visible.

It's still a work in progress, and I'd love to hear your thoughts before I move on to the resin stage.

Handmade Wood & Resin Pendant | Work in Progress

Current progress on my latest handmade wood & resin pendant.

The polishing is almost done, and only the final assembly is left.

Really happy with how the amber resin looks in natural light.

Final reveal coming soon.

Still a Work in Progress... But the Amber Glow is Finally There.

This handmade wood and resin pendant is almost finished. The shape is complete, the polishing is nearly done, and I'm working on the final assembly with matching beads and a cord.

My goal was to create a warm amber-like glow while preserving the natural beauty of the wood. Seeing it glow in natural sunlight made all the sanding and polishing worth it.

The final reveal is coming soon. I'd love to hear what you think before I call it finished.

This isn't the final pendant—just a practice piece.

Today I experimented with pyrography (wood burning) and acrylic markers on wood before cutting the final pendant shape.

I'm testing colors, line work, and the overall composition. If it turns out well, I'll cut the final pendant and finish it with a clear resin coat.

What do you think? Any suggestions before I make the final version?

Slowly bringing the texture to life before the resin stage.

A little more progress today.

The carving is slowly taking shape. There's still a long way to go before the resin stage, but I'm enjoying the process one step at a time.

Looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

Trying a different approach for my next wood and resin pendant

I'm trying a completely different approach with this piece instead of repeating my previous work. Today was all about cutting, shaping, and sanding the apple wood before moving on to the resin stage.

I'm experimenting with a new form and paying close attention to how the natural wood grain flows through the design. The goal is to let the wood and resin complement each other rather than forcing a pattern.

It's still a work in progress, and I'm taking my time refining the shape before pouring any resin. I'd love to hear your thoughts while it's still in this stage.

One of my early handmade butterfly pendant designs

I made this butterfly pendant some time ago and recently came across the old video while organizing my files. It was completely handmade, and I thought I'd share it here.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the design.
