Custom Concert Jewelry

Wanted to share some waist chains I made for the MCR Nashville show! I’ve gotten into jewelry making this year and it’s been so much fun making custom pieces for concerts.

I’ll also be wearing it to the 10/30 Hollywood Bowl show 🖤

Would you buy this?

Hey everyone,

I was thinking about creating a DIY permanent jewelry converter kit, where I would sell a kit with link locks, pliers, wire cutters, and instructions. The idea of this product is to turn non-permanent jewelry permanent. Is this something that you would buy? I’m not sure if people would be interested in it or not. Be honest, I don’t want to invest in this if it’s a dumb idea

Engraver for sterling silver jewellery (very small)

Hi there,

I have a small business where I make sterling silver charms. I'm looking to personalise some of them with small engravings of names/ dates etc.

The size of the letters will need to be around 0.5mm in height, as the charms are pretty small.

It would be great if the engraver could also work on other materials like wood and leather.

I've spent hours researching engravers online, asking chatgpt and watching YT vids, but I can't seem to get a clear answer.

I'm currently looking at the Xtool F1 Ultra, as it has two lasers, and claims it works on most materials. It also looks very user friendly (in terms of software and all in one enclosed unit) for a novice like me. However I've read elsewhere that the 20W fiber laser might not be powerful enough to engrave properly. I've seen very little proof online that the F1 Ultra does a good job on sterling silver and therefore I'm hesitant to dive in a buy one.

I've also seen that the Xtool F1 (non ultra) can lightly mark silver. Would this be suitable as a starting point, or something that would satisfy a customer wanting a personalised silver charm? Or should I steer clear?

Finally I looked into more powerful fiber lasers, 30W+. These intimidate me as most look like they'd need an enclosure and ventilation setup. Possibly something that might be a bit overkill for my small Etsy shop?

Sorry for the long brain dump. Any help would be massively appreciated. Just looking for something relatively affordable and easy to use - if that exists

Thanks

Ben

Which design?

I made three new designs for the cuff bracelet. Gold-plated base with our most popular sunflower ornament beaded in peyote stitch from Miyuki Delica.

Which one you like the most?

Necklace and bracelet

Square knots with geode, carnelian, and moonstone. I had leftover cord so I made a bracelet with it.

second time playing with wire, first attempt at a necklace

the other week my sister asked me to make her a colorful necklace and proceeded to send me inspo pictures which i didn’t follow..because they were ugly

i knew when she meant “make me a necklace” she was referring to “from scratch” likely because i’m really pretty crafty

she liked it, but i told her if she didn’t i was going to kill her..with the necklace
