Like whoever designed it communicated it poorly to the team that set it up.

It felt like they were supposed to only have 2 digging at a time and if you dug up another team you gave up your slot.

I initially assumed that is how it would work "you can get money or dig up another pair who will then take over from you" which makes it a much more difficult choice.

Particularly when you get further down and don't have an obvious replacement like James Blunt to smash through it and have to decide if Gerry Hall can really dig up all the remaining cash graves or if you leave her until the very end and get the cash first if you can (I know Gerry just quit immediately but anyway).
