Looking for an English-taught Mechanical Engineering bachelor's in Japan (2028 applicant)

Hi everyone!
I'm a high school student from India planning to apply for undergraduate admission in 2028.
My profile:
ICSE Class 10: 94%
Target CBSE Class 12: 90%+
Target SAT: 1500+
I'll also take IELTS.
I'm learning Japanese for daily life, but I'd like to complete my degree in English.
I'm looking for a university that has:
A full Mechanical Engineering bachelor's taught in English
Good reputation
Good student life
Local Japanese students (I don't want to be in an international only bubble)
Moderate academic workload
In Tokyo or within 30-45 minutes away from Tokyo
Right now, Waseda University is my top choice, but I'm concerned about the timetable. I saw that classes can run until 8:35 PM, and I'm wondering how common that actually is.
For current Waseda (or other engineering) students:
How often do you have classes after 6 PM?
How many hours per week do you spend on homework and studying outside class?
Do you still have time for clubs, the gym, friends, and exploring Tokyo?
Is it easy to make Japanese friends in the English-based program?
Are there any other universities you'd recommend that match what I'm looking for?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences. Thanks!
