I finally got a doctor who takes my pain seriously. I've suffered from vaginismus for decades which had made even using tampons unthinkable for me, let alone penetrative intimacy. Pelvic examinations ? Excruciating!

When you go in to most doctors with vaginismus they tell you to talk to a therapist! That it's psychological! That you just need to relax!

I've had on and off sciatica since my teens. Most doctors wouldn't even acknowledge my pain. Decided to go to a chiropractor and when he looked at my xrays he asked if I had ever been in a car crash, i said no and it was never brought up again. This would place the timeline for when I likely formed the pars defects to somewhere before 15 years old.

Now I'm 34...can't stand for more than ten minutes without pain and numbness in my legs. I move to the city get a new doctor and she listens! I get sent to a sports medicine doctor he gives me X Rays and that day I'm informed by a now very serious doctor that I have pars defects and he seems shocked that I've gone this long with ZERO care. I get my MRI and my formal diagnosis spondylolisthesis. I ask if this could be causing my vaginismus? Answer : yes....

The relief that I finally have answer finally have some hope of relief from my life long pain....

I've found a local physiotherapist who also specializes in pelvic floor disfunction...wish me luck!
