I purchased a pair from Nordstrom and they came clearly used and perhaps even a display item. The shoe box was wrecked, no protective tape on the sole, and no shoe dust bags. This was my first purchase ever from Nordstrom and returned the next day with no hassle. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this happen?

I have a tipping algorithm and I am fine tuning for eating at the bar. Same as in the dining room? What is a range others would recommend?
