QuestPiracy Community Update | August 13th, 2026

QuestPiracy Community Update | August 13th, 2026

A lot has happened, so here are the important updates

A lot has changed recently, and ive had several different highlight posts pinned for different things. Rather than keep a pile of outdated posts around, im combining the important stuff here so i can remove the old ones and keep one post updated when things change.

---

vrSrc is alive

This is old news by now, but yes, vrSrc is alive and running on a new server.

The people running it are anonymous, and thats how they want it kept.

---

Where to get vrSrc server updates

The official place for vrSrc server information is their Telegram channel. Its linked in the subreddit sidebar, unless you are one of those weirdos using old.reddit or the mobile app where Reddit likes hiding everything.

On Telegram, search:

>the_vrSrc

Not everyone uses Telegram, but you actually dont need a Telegram account to view the channel.

Reddit automatically removes Telegram links, but you can manually build the browser link by inserting /s/ between t dot me and the_vrSrc. That lets you view the channel in a normal browser without installing Telegram or creating an account.

This channel is important because the JSON contents WILL change over time.

Please stop reposting the actual JSON everywhere. It accomplishes nothing except spreading information that will eventually become outdated and making it easier for servers to get blocked or shut down. ISP blocking has already started happening in some places.

Posting the actual JSON contents on this subreddit will result in a PERMANENT ban.

There is absolutely no reason to post it here.

All of this information is also available on the QuestPiracy Megathread.

---

Supported applications

Currently, only approved applications can connect to the vrSrc API.

Current supported apps and minimum versions:

  • Rookie Sideloader 3.4+ with 3.4 currently being the latest release
  • VR CyberDeck 1.2.1+ with 1.7.2 currently being the latest release and available on the DeliciousMeatPop GitHub

Older versions and unapproved applications will not connect.

Rookie is Windows only.

VR CyberDeck supports Windows, Linux, and macOS.

There is currently no working native Quest downloader using the vrSrc API.

Keep in mind this ONLY applies to applications using vrSrc. There are plenty of other sources listed in the QuestPiracy Megathread that have nothing to do with vrSrc.

Both CyberDeck and Rookie require you to copy the current JSON from the vrSrc Telegram into the application.

The Megathread has more information about this, including video tutorials.

---

VPN and ISP blocking issues

This has confused a lot of people lately.

Some ISPs appear to be blocking access to parts of the vrSrc infrastructure.

Common symptoms include CyberDeck loading no game list even after refreshing, Rookie loading the game list but returning Error 500 when you attempt a download, or a fresh Rookie installation saying:

config server is not reachable - check url and your connection

The easiest test is simple.

Try a VPN.

If everything suddenly works, congratulations, you probably just spent 10 seconds diagnosing something that people have spent hours troubleshooting.

Free options people have reported success with include Proton VPN and Cloudflare WARP.

CyberDeck also detects this situation much better now and will display a warning banner suggesting a VPN when it looks like your connection is being blocked.

---

My old KaladinDMP GitHub account

After GitHub suspended my previous account, ive been rebuilding and restoring my projects here:

https://github.com/DeliciousMeatPop

At this point basically everything important is back.

That includes VR CyberDeck and Automagic Package Changer, although for APK renaming i recommend Quest APK Renamer instead. Thats linked on the Megathread.

Im still cleaning things up and rebuilding anything thats missing under the new account.

---

QuestPiracy Telegram

Reddit is great for discussions.

It is absolutely terrible for live troubleshooting.

Sometimes fixing something requires screenshots, logs, version numbers, testing something, coming back with the result, trying something else, and repeating that process a few times.

Thats why the QuestPiracy Telegram exists.

Its meant for live troubleshooting, installation help, sideloading questions, and helping people who are genuinely stuck.

It is NOT there for sharing files, requesting files, asking where to download games, or trying to get around subreddit rules.

Search QuestPiracy on Telegram or use the link in the subreddit sidebar.

Again, unless you are one of those weirdos using old Reddit or the mobile app and cant see the sidebar.

The goal isnt to replace Reddit. Its just a much better format for live support, and hopefully it also cuts down on duplicate troubleshooting posts here.

And yes, before someone asks again, we're adults. There will not be an official Discord.

If somebody else wants to create one, maintain it, moderate it, deal with Discord drama, and generally volunteer for that particular form of punishment, ill happily put the link in the sidebar.

Im just not running it.

--

The QuestPiracy Megathread

The Megathread is back and has been heavily updated.

If you find dead links ON THE MEGATHREAD, please let me know ASAP.

I do not mean some random dead DDL link on one of the sites listed in the Megathread. I mean an actual broken link on the Megathread itself.

A screenshot of the broken link or a good description of where you found it would be greatly appreciated.

We are also looking for editors and useful information to add.

If you have corrections, guides, tools, updated information, useful links, or anything else that genuinely belongs there, feel free to comment.

Also, if you previously tried making an account and never received the verification email, that has been fixed.

Apparently email requires SMTP configuration.

Who knew?

Yes, i am dumb.

---

Marvel Powers United VR Level Select Tool

Ive also been rewriting my Marvel Powers United VR Level Select Tool that i originally wrote for the revival project in 2024, famously used by Beardo Benjo and other youtube famous people before the DCMA that shut it down.

Im specifically looking for people who use Link or Air Link who are willing to test it.

No, i will not give you the game files

No, i do not have the game files.

No, i cannot give you the game files.

No, asking me for the game files is not an innovative loophole nobody thought of before.

I will ban you if you ask.

and just in case its not clear: No games files.

If you already own the game or already have the files and want to help test the tool, please let me know. I could especially use testers running setups different from mine. VD will not work. Airlink or link seems to be required.

>!BTW the game files definitely cant be found at everyone favorite Russian forum so do NOT look there whatever you do!<

---

Going forward

When something major changes, ill update this post or make a new one instead of constantly creating new highlight posts.

As always, im here to help the community. If you have legitimate questions, concerns, corrections, or useful information, post a comment.

One final thing.:

Im done entertaining the nonstop negativity, entitlement, and people who seemingly come here exclusively to complain about free tools, free information, and volunteers not doing enough for them.

Constructive criticism is fine.

Being a dick is not

Negative comments that contribute nothing will be removed, and if someone clearly only wants to cause problems, ill just ban them and keep it moving

There are too many useful things we could be doing here to waste time arguing with people who don't actually want help. and don't want to help

The Quest Piracy Megathread Is Updated Again

This is an update to Megathread is Back

I finally felt well enough to sit down and work on the megathread. My health has been really poor lately, so i apologize for how long the update took. I went through everything i could, corrected outdated information, fixed links, and tried to make the entire site accurate again.

I also listened to peoples feedback about the design and toned it down quite a bit. It is now much less colorful, cleaner, and hopefully easier to read and navigate.

Comments are now the main way to contribute corrections, suggestions, and new information directly through the megathread. If someone consistently leaves useful comments and clearly knows what they are talking about, i will most likely offer to make them an editor.

The site uses WordPress, which is pretty easy to learn. Editors can use HTML if they prefer, but you can also use the normal WYSIWYG editor without needing to know any code.

Please understand that the comment system is only for ideas, corrections, broken links, missing information, or other changes related to the megathread itself.

Do not use the comments to ask for help setting up Rookie, report problems installing games, request game updates, or complain that something has not been updated yet. Those comments will be removed, and repeatedly misusing the system may result in you losing the ability to comment.

For support, make a post here or ask in the Quest Piracy Telegram. You can also post megathread suggestions here or message me privately. Honestly, i dont care how the information reaches me. If you find something useful that should be added or corrected, i will be happy to receive it.

Thanks to everyone who waited patiently, shared feedback, reported problems, and helped keep the information accurate.

Megathread is Back

qpmegathread.top is back online!

Right now the site is basically restored to how it was before. It is not yet community editable, and some information may be outdated, incomplete, or have broken links. For the moment, treat it as a general information resource and double check anything important before relying on it.

Tomorrow i plan to start converting the current site into a custom WordPress theme. The goal is to keep the same overall look and layout, while making it much easier for trusted users to update pages without needing to know HTML, Markdown, GitHub, or anything technical.

The plan is to eventually have a proper editing system where contributors can suggest changes, update guides, fix dead links, add new tools, and help keep everything current. Editors and maintainers will still review and approve changes so the site does not turn into a mess.

This should make the megathread much easier to maintain long term and stop it from depending entirely on one person having enough free time to manually edit every page.

Sorry it took so long to get everything back up. My hands have been full with a lot of stuff, including dealing with the GitHub suspension, recovering the original repo, rebuilding the VPS setup, and getting the domain and site working again.

For tonight, the important part is that the site is back. The next step is making it easier for the community to help keep it alive and accurate.

Thanks for being patient guys.

QuestPiracy Community Update - July 24, 2026

A lot has happened, so here's one post with the important updates. This is a summary of the community highlights so i can remove the ones im summarizing. This also lets me update anything that no longer is accurate.

vrSrc is alive

A new anonymous group has stepped in to keep vrSrc alive. They are not affiliated with VRP or ARMGDDN at the time of the DMCA and have intentionally remained anonymous.

The project is active, proven to work, and provides a path for compatible sideloaders to continue working.

Please don't ask who's behind it or speculate. Respecting their anonymity gives them the best chance of continuing.

Where to get server updates

The official place for vrSrc server info is their Telegram. Its linked in the sidebar unless you are one of those weirdos that like old.reddit or a mobile user.

On telegram search for:

the_vrSrc

Not everyone uses telegram but luckily you do not need a Telegram account. Reddit automatically removes Telegram links, but if you insert /s/ between t . me and the_vrSrc, you can view it in your browser without the Telegram app or even an account.

The Telegram is important because the JSON contents will change over time. Reposting the JSON everywhere isn't smart and only makes it easier to get shut down or blocked by your ISP, which has already begun happening.

Posting the JSON contents on this subreddit will result in a PERMANENT ban.
There is just no need for it.

Supported applications

Currently only approved applications can connect to the API.

Current supported applications (including the versions):

  • Rookie Sideloader 3.4+ (3.4 is the current release)
  • VR CyberDeck 1.2.1+ (1.4.9 is the current release and available on the DeliciousMeatPop GitHub)

Older versions and unapproved apps will not connect.

Rookie is Windows only. CyberDeck supports Windows, Linux, and macOS.

There is currently no working native Quest downloader that uses vrSrc.

But, as i said, this only affects applications using the vrSrc API.
Many other sources in the QuestPiracy Megathread do not rely on vrSrc.

The Megathread is temporarily unavailable while I deal with my GitHub suspension. Until it's back, the archived copy is probably your best reference:

https://web.archive.org/web/20260703205427/https://qpmegathread.top/

CyberDeck comes preconfigured, while Rookie still requires you to copy the current JSON from the Telegram into the application.

VPN issues

One thing that's confused a lot of people lately is ISP blocking.

Common symptoms include:

  • CyberDeck loads no game list, even after refreshing
  • Rookie loads the game list but gives Error 500 when attempting to download
  • A fresh Rookie setup reports the error: config server is not reachable - check url and your connection
  • Everything immediately starts working after enabling a VPN

If that sounds familiar, try a VPN before spending hours troubleshooting.

Some free options people have had success with include:

  • Proton VPN
  • Cloudflare WARP

CyberDeck also now recognizes this situation much better and displays a banner suggesting a VPN when appropriate.

My KaladinDMP GitHub Account

After GitHub suspended my previous account, I've started restoring projects here:

https://github.com/DeliciousMeatPop

Currently available again:

  • VR CyberDeck
  • Automagic Package Changer (APC)

I'm still waiting to hear back from GitHub regarding my appeal. They have responded, so for now I'm holding off on moving everything. If that doesn't go anywhere over the next few days, I'll continue rebuilding everything under the new account.

QuestPiracy Telegram

Reddit is great for discussions. It isn't great for live troubleshooting.

Sometimes solving a problem takes screenshots, logs, version numbers, and several rounds of questions. That's why the QuestPiracy Telegram exists.

It's for:

  • Live troubleshooting
  • Installation help
  • Sideloading questions
  • Helping people who are genuinely stuck

It is not for:

  • Sharing files
  • Requesting files
  • Asking for sources
  • Circumventing subreddit rules

➡️ Use the link in the subreddit sidebar ---|>

Search QuestPiracy on Telegram or use the link in the subreddit sidebar (unless you are one of the weirdos that prefers old reddit or the mobile app).

The goal isn't to replace Reddit. It's simply a better place for live support and should help reduce duplicate posts while getting people back into VR faster.

And yes, before anyone asks again, we're adults, so no, there won't be a Discord. If someone wants to make and run one ill be happy to post the link in the sidebar but i wont be starting one.

Looking ahead

The QuestPiracy Megathread is making progress again. I can't promise a date yet, but it's looking increasingly likely that it'll return sooner rather than later.

As always, if there are any major developments, I'll update this post.

As always, i am here for the community, post a comment if you have questions or concerns.

Negative comments will be deleted. Tired of the negativity and entitled-ness here. Ill just ban you and keep it moving.

Error 404 - My KaladinDMP GitHub was banned/deleted

Trying to avoid people adding to the spam, since there have already been several posts about this, but sometime within the last 12 hours GitHub banned my account and removed all 50 or so of my repositories.

I've been flooded with messages across Telegram, Reddit, RIN, and other places asking why my projects disappeared.

If you're looking for the QP Megathread, VR CyberDeck, ARMGDDN Autocracker (downloads still exist in some places, but not the source), ARMGDDN Browser (still available on Telegram, at least), Automagic Package Changer, or any of my other projects, everything under the KaladinDMP GitHub account has been wiped.

Right now my biggest concern is recovering the source code. If anyone has a recent clone or download of any of these repositories, please contact me privately. The most important ones for QP are VR CyberDeck, the QP Megathread, and Automagic Package Changer.

As things currently stand, there are no Mac or Linux sideloaders that work with the VrSrc servers because of this. The installers themselves aren't enough to recover the projects. For example, VR CyberDeck alone had 14 separate installers generated for each release, but those don't contain the development history or source code.

Sorry to everyone this has affected. It's an inconvenience for a lot of people, but trust me, no one has been hit harder by this than i have.

EDIT http://github.com/DeliciousMeatPop/VRCD/releases/latest new repo for now

the vrSrc is in need of some donations to stay alive

Anything helps, posted on their telegram

Anything helps!

Unlike VRP, they don't sell VIP slots. Unlike ARMGDDN, they don't have something like a 3D site helping cover server costs. This project survives purely on donations.

If donations stop, the server doesn't magically keep running. Someone has to pay the bill, and i don't expect they're willing to keep doing that out of pocket forever.

I don't know what their monthly costs are, but I'd guess they're relatively low. Maybe around $60 a month. That means if a handful of people throw in $1 to $5 each, the server is covered pretty quickly.

Since they aren't selling anything, you can use services like PayPal to process the donations, making it a lot easier than some other projects.

If you can't contribute, that's completely fine. i haven't been able to myself yet. But if you can, and you've saved hundreds of dollars thanks to their work, maybe consider tossing them the price of a coffee.

Or don't. Just don't be surprised if another valuable source disappears.

I've seen people panicking because nothing has been released since the 4th. i don't know the reason, but if i had to guess it's probably related. Maybe they're tight on storage. Maybe they're waiting to see if they can even justify another month of server costs. If you don't know whether you'll still be around next month, it's understandable that new releases might slow down.

This is a genuinely valuable resource, and right now you have a chance to support it if you want it to continue.

Piracy should be free. More importantly, it should be free for the people running the servers. You're not paying for the games. You're helping cover the infrastructure so everyone can continue accessing them.

Crypto Donations Here

One last thing. If all you've got is complaints or negativity, keep it to yourself. This isn't the thread for it. Anyone who shows up just to whine or attack the people keeping this resource alive will be bounced from the subreddit.

Im going to add the donation link to the subreddit sidebar too near the other links, and if you use VR CyberDeck i posted links there and on the repo as well.

CyberDeck requires an update to v1.4.3 to work

🚨 Mandatory Update. Yeah, this one's actually mandatory.

Normally i don't care if you're a version or two behind. If it works, it works.

This time? Nope. Update.

What happened?

Some genius decided that instead of getting their own API credentials, they'd just steal mine out of VR CyberDeck and ship them in their own repo.

Real big brain move.

Then to add insult to injury they posted their app on questpiracy, took me exactly 3 minutes to figure out what happened. As a result, i had to have the old API key revoked and get issued a new one.

What does that mean for you?

If you're running an older version, it's not gonna be working.

Syncs failing? Downloads throwing 403 Forbidden? The app suddenly acting like it hates you?

Nothing's broken.

Your version is simply using a key that no longer exists.

What changed?

  • The old vrSrc API key has been permanently revoked
  • The key is no longer shipped as plain text inside the app where anyone with Notepad++ and five minutes of free time can steal it
  • The log upload feature now strips the API key before uploading logs, so even if you share one publicly, your credentials stay protected. It did this already but now the backup has a backup.

Why you need to update

Because this isn't one of those "recommended" updates.

Your current version literally cannot authenticate anymore.

Update the app.

Problem solved.

And to the clown responsible...

Forking projects? Cool.

Learning from other people's code? Awesome.

Shipping someone else's stolen private credentials in your own project?

That's not development. That's copy/paste with extra stupidity.

Congrats though. You managed to inconvenience thousands of users because you couldn't spend five minutes getting your own API key.

Hope the 403s were worth it.

Sorry everyone. I hate forcing updates, but this one wasn't optional.

r/QuestPiracy Telegram is now live!

Reddit is great for discussions, but it's honestly not the best place for live troubleshooting. Sometimes fixing an issue takes 10 questions back and forth, screenshots, and trying a few different things before you find the problem.

That's why we created the QuestPiracy Telegram.

What it's for

  • Getting live help when you've already done some reading
  • Troubleshooting installs, sideloading, and common Quest issues
  • Asking questions that are easier to solve in a real-time chat
  • Helping other community members who get stuck

What it's NOT for

  • Sharing files
  • Requesting files
  • Asking for sources
  • Bypassing the rules already established here

If you're looking for games, sources, or setup information, please read the Megathread first. Almost every common question is already answered there.

The Telegram is meant for the people who have already searched, read the guide, tried the suggested fixes, and are still stuck.

If that sounds like you, come hang out.

🔍 Search: QuestPiracy Telegram or if that doesnt work try just QuestPiracy

or

➡️ Use the link in the subreddit sidebar ---|>

The goal isn't to replace Reddit. It's just to make the inevitable "try this... nope... ok what version are you on?" conversations a whole lot easier. Hopefully it'll also cut down on duplicate posts and get people back into VR faster.

And before anyone asks, we are adults, so no Discord isn't in the cards. If you want to START one or RUN one, sure, otherwise consider that question dead and answered.

Possible ISP Blocking Causing Rookie/CyberDeck Issues

So yesterday CyberDeck stopped working for me. No gamelist and weird logs.... So i checked Rookie. The game list would load fine, but every time I tried to download something I got Error 500. I've never had this happen before, and I hadn't changed anything with CyberDeck, Rookie, or my internet connection.

I noticed a few other people posting about similar issues here and on the CyberDeck GitHub issues page, so I reached out to the server admins. They happened to be unavailable at the time, so I assumed it was probably a server problem and told several people it would likely be fixed once someone could check things the next day.

Well, it turns out Rookie and CyberDeck were working perfectly fine for the server admins and apparently for many other users as well. A few people claimed everything was working, but when asked for more details they never responded, so I wasn't sure what to believe. I figured maybe they had only loaded the game list and hadn't actually tried downloading anything.

Once I found out the servers were working for other people, I started wondering if the problem was on my end. Maybe my ISP was blocking something? Maybe there was some weird routing issue? So I decided to test with a VPN.

Sure enough, the moment I connected to a VPN everything started working again. In the video you can actually see me disconnect the VPN, refresh the game list, and immediately lose connectivity.

So if you're getting No game list on CyberDeck, or Gamlist + Error 500 when trying to download on Rookie, it may be worth testing with a VPN before spending hours troubleshooting. Not everyone has access to a paid VPN, but there are free options that may work. Proton VPN is one possibility. If you've found other free VPNs that work, please leave a comment so others can try them as well.

Hopefully this saves someone else a few hours of frustration.

"Im sorry" subtitle bug?

So i love this app. I used to use other players, but after finding it for 3D movie playback, i ended up using it for basically all my media now.

One of my favorite features is the "Create Subtitles from Audio" option. I have it set to automatically generate subtitles whenever a video doesn't already have them. Most of what i watch already includes subtitles, so i don't get to use it very often.

Right now though, i'm watching all 7 seasons of The Mentalist, and none of my files have subtitles, so Whisper has been getting a workout.

My current settings are:

• Whisper.cpp (Vulkan)
• Model: large-v3
• Language: English

The issue is that every minute or so, and sometimes several times in a single minute, it'll randomly subtitle "I'm sorry" when nobody is talking. Sometimes it'll even inject it right in the middle of someone else's sentence.

At first it was kind of funny, but i'm on season 6 now and hearing "I'm sorry" from invisible people every few minutes is starting to drive me crazy. 😅

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a known fix or a setting i'm missing? I tried Googling it and even asked a few AI tools, but i couldn't figure out how to explain the problem well enough to get useful answers.

the vrSrc API is now live

The server is not down, but the api is live. Only two apps and the specific versions of those apps are approved (that i know of as of this writing).

  1. Rookie Sideloader v3.4 - 3.3 or lower will NOT connect.
  2. VR CyberDeck v1.2.1 - Anything lower will not connect

This means no other apps (unless properly approved) will be able to connect. Do not make posts about the server or other apps unless you are using one of the above it will NOT work.

This being said this is NOT the only source. There are plenty of sources in the megathread which do not depend or rely on the vrSrc Server. This largely only effects sideloaders (and some shitty downloaders) that use the vrSrc as the server

Made a Small Tool to Automate the Navigator UI ADB Fix

So i saw this post here https://www.reddit.com/r/QuestPiracy/comments/1t9mnpu/how_to_revert_back_to_the_universal_menu_from/ about the ADB command that reverts the shitty Navigator UI and figured i'd make a simple tool for people that arent comfortable using command line stuff. Thanks to Asleep_Conclusion147 and Yeahnahthatscool for posting about it.

This is basically just a portable BAT utility with bundled ADB that:

  • checks if your Quest is connected properly
  • checks for authorization/dev mode issues
  • automatically runs:

adb shell pm clear com.oculus.vrshell

  • gives proper error messages if something is wrong
  • has a fancy little cyberpunk style UI because why not 😄 (seems to be my thing lately)

Current issue:
Right now the fix is NOT permanent. The problem (aka the shitty UI) comes back after restarting the headset, so for now the tool needs to be run again after every reboot. Major sad face.

Im mainly posting this because:

  1. it makes the current workaround easier for normal users
  2. maybe some of you Android/Quest dev wizards have ideas for a more permanent solution

If anyone has ideas for:

  • a permanent fix
  • a way to automate this better
  • wireless ADB startup tricks
  • identifying a way to freeze this so the commands not needed...

definitely let me know.

AND AS ALWAYS: Made with ❤️ by DMP of ARMGDDN Games

Download link

NOTE: Depending on your browser you may need to right-click and choose Save As and then you may need to tell your browser its ok to keep. Thanks to u/WhatNoRobot for pointing out they needed to do this.

Instructions:

  1. Extract this where ever.
  2. Run the bat.
  3. Follow the prompts.

Thats basically it.

If you hate this art style your gonna LOVE VR CyberDeck.... NOT

Hey y'all,

I've been quietly cooking on this for a while and after a stack of 0.x prereleases with friends I'm finally cutting the public v1.0.0. Meet VR CyberDeck — a cross-platform desktop deck for managing, sideloading, and uploading content to your Quest, wrapped in a neon-terminal aesthetic that doesn't look like it was designed in 2014.

Quick disclosure first: this is a fork of ApprenticeVR by jimzrt. The core engine (ADB control, the download/upload/rclone pipeline) is theirs and y'all should give them a star — without that foundation this project literally doesn't exist. I've heavily rewritten the experience on top.

https://reddit.com/link/1sxm9cj/video/83f0kij9vtxg1/player

// TL;DR

It's a sideloader. It's themed. It works on first launch. It has buttons that go boop.

// WHAT'S DIFFERENT FROM APPRENTICEVR / OTHER FORKS

ApprenticeVR / typical fork VR CyberDeck
Onboarding Configure server before use Bundled defaults — works first launch
Library view Table only Card and table view, table stretches edge-to-edge
Downloads Sequential Up to 5 parallel, NEW / UPDATED badges
Uploads Headset-only Headset or local PC files (folders + ZIPs)
Live HUD None Header strip rotates through active transfers w/ name, %, speed, ETA
ADB Shell None Full terminal with quick-command shortcut pills + user-defined macros
Trailers Loads full youtube.com page Locked-down nocookie embed — no ads, no suggestions, no subscribe button ... But also currently broken =(
Quit safety None Won't let you close mid-transfer without warning
Theming Stock Fluent UI Cyberpunk top to bottom, accent color picker, font picker, full colorblind mode
Sound None Optional drop-in click.wav / type.wav / matrix.wav for that hacker-keyboard feel
Updates Manual In-app auto-updater on every platform

// FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Live transfer ticker in the header — // TRANSFER_BUS ↓ Beat Saber DOWNLOADING 78% 12.3 MB/s ETA 1m. Rotates through active items, shows speed + ETA + stage labels (Installing APK...Copying OBB...).
  • ADB Shell with shortcut pills for the stuff you actually do: pin CPU/GPU level, swap refresh rate (72/90/120Hz), block/unblock the OS updater, reboot variants, tcpip 5555, etc. Plus custom macro pills you can save for any command you spam (right-click to edit/delete).
  • Smart on-disk detection — already have the same release downloaded from another tool? CyberDeck notices, asks if you want to install from the existing files or wipe + redownload. Toggle in Settings if you want it to pick automatically.
  • Local PC upload — point at a folder or pre-made ZIP, no headset required. Full pipeline: stage → APK → OBBs → metadata → 7z → rclone.
  • A11y that's actually finished — colorblind mode swaps the whole UI palette (not just the obvious bits), font scale up to 200%, font picker if Courier New is rough on your eyes, 900x640 minimum window for laptops.

// DOWNLOAD

// FEEDBACK / BUGS

If you find a sound clip that would suit the click/type/matrix slots, drop it in a discussion thread — happy to bundle community favourites in a later build.

// FAQ I CAN ALREADY SEE COMING

"Why fork ApprenticeVR instead of contributing upstream?" Honest answer ... iit started as a quick "lets get this new server working thing" and snowballed. The amount of UI/UX surgery wouldn't have made sense as a PR. jimzrt's project stays the source of truth for the engine; CyberDeck is the playground.

"Will my old downloads still work?" Yes. Point Settings → Download Path at your existing folder and hit Scan — anything already on disk gets imported as Completed and you can install straight from there.

"What's with the sound effects?" They're just for fun and you can drop your own files. Or remove mine, and even mess with the volume and turn them off in options, BUT if you have an old mechanical keyboard click sample lying around, you know what to do.

🔍 Some actually cool features on the vrSrc site you probably aren’t using

I’ve been digging through the the_vrSrc site lately and figured I’d make a post highlighting some of the more interesting features.

If you haven’t made an account yet, it’s worth doing. Even though parts of the site are still being built out, there’s already a surprising amount of functionality and some genuinely smart ideas that help the community.

💰 Donations (Crypto + Credit System)

👉 vrsrc donate page

They accept a wide range of crypto donations, and you get credit as a donor. That’s about as far as it goes right now, but don’t let that stop you.

Servers aren’t cheap. If people aren’t helping cover costs, stuff like this doesn’t last. I haven’t donated crypto yet personally, but I plan to.

🔑 Token Method (This is the big one)

If you’ve got a large library, or you’ve ever:

  • hated donating one file at a time
  • avoided donating because your upload speed sucks
  • just couldn’t be bothered

This is where things get interesting.

👉 Go to your account page: vrsrc account page

Scroll to Account Token. There’s a tutorial there on how to grab it.

Quick note:

  • If the hotkeys don’t work (F12 / Ctrl+Shift+I), just right click → Inspect Element
  • Or use Ctrl+Shift+C depending on your browser

Once you paste your token, it validates the format.

What it actually does:

Instead of uploading files manually, they can access and pull games you already own.

Think of it like how Steam manifests work. It’s a huge time saver.

⚠️ Important warning:

This token effectively allows login access.

  • Treat it like a password
  • Don’t share it randomly
  • Only give it to services you trust

This method isn’t new. Groups like VRP and others have used similar systems for years.

Personally, I trust vrSrc with it, but that’s your call.

🧾 UUID Credit System

Another solid feature is donation tracking via UUID.

  • You can submit your UUID on your account page
  • It links your uploads to you (without exposing personal info)
  • Past and future uploads get credited automatically

Uploads include a HWID.txt that ties into this system.

If you donate from multiple PCs, you can add multiple UUIDs.

Not 100% sure yet how this lines up between Rookie and ApprenticeVR, but it’s something worth syncing if possible. I plan on looking into this. Assume that it works with RSL at the moment but probably not ApprenticeVR

🏆 Future Donor Perks (Not fully live yet)

Looks like they’re planning something for consistent contributors.

Possibly:

  • VIP access
  • Priority perks

Nothing confirmed or active yet, but honestly… even without rewards, contributing helps keep everything alive.

Anything extra would just be a bonus.

🧠 Final Thoughts

The site is doing something a little different, and it shows.

What’s interesting is they’re:

  • using methods that already worked in the past
  • but actually building systems around them for community use

That’s something older groups didn’t fully capitalize on.

There are already tools to:

  • see what needs donating
  • track updates
  • streamline contributions

And that alone makes this worth paying attention to. There is info here so you can see whats going on easily but also ways to contribute games or financially. It's a great site and it makes me hopeful for the future. Check it out

👀 TLDR

  • Make an account
  • Check your account page
  • Set up token + UUID if you’re comfortable
  • Look around, there’s more here than you think

If you actually take the time to explore the site, I guarantee you’ll find at least one feature you didn’t know existed or didn’t realize you needed.

EDIT: Before anyone asks this stupid and pointless question: Yes i used AI to organize my thoughts.
