Colt Python vs S&W Model 27
I’m talking strictly vintage guns. Both were the company’s top of the line .357 and both have a dedicated fan base. Which would y’all go with and why?

I’ve been wanting a model 29 to round out my vintage Smith and Wesson N frame collection. I’ve come close to buying several, but they were never exactly what I wanted. Saw this guy at a pawn shop this morning for a pretty reasonable price, and after a little good natured tire kicking about the replacement grips and such, they knocked 1/3 off the price and said they’d include the tax and background fee. I couldn’t resist. It’s not the prettiest Smith I own, but it seems to be fine shooter so far.
I put some new Altamont Roper grips on my old model 57 today and thought it might be a good opportunity to get out the rest of my nicer revolvers for a family photo.
I’m a handgun enthusiast, and I enjoy a good rifle for plinking on occasion, but I’m not familiar with shotguns other than shooting the occasional clay in the backyard as a teenager. I was recently given a trap gun and I don’t know if it’s a good fit for a beginner. Evidently it’s a Winchester Y model 12 (pigeon grade?). It’s been heavily modified. The barrel appears to have been ported, there’s some sort of Mercury tube in the stock, a Griggs recoil redirector has replaced the original pad and the trigger has been swapped for a set release model. It has sentimental value to me, so I’m going to hang on to it, but outside its intended purpose of trap shooting, it seems kinda useless to me. I thought I might go to the local clay pigeon shooting club and see if I can get the hang of it but I don’t really know where to begin the journey.
