DCH273 Chuck play

I’m in the process of switching brands, replacing all my old worn out tools with Dewalt as they expire.

Just bought this DCH273, it has drilled a handful of holes with a 8mm bit in soft brick. Not because I needed to use it but… new tool, innit.

Taking the bit out I noticed how much side play there is on the chuck. Is this normal?! The drill it replaced was half the price, lasted 10 years and still doesn’t have that much movement.

I moved to Fusion some years back having been used to Solidworks. For some reason every single project I've done since has been free of ANY complex curves whatsoever, so I've never learned it. Embarrassing but true.

I need to model a toilet which doesn't have a flat face on it anywhere at all and only one line of symmetry. Every attempt I've made has been... s**t. Appropriate, but not useful.

How would you approach it?
