Rate my Willamette Valley Plan

Hello wine-mind,

We're headed to Willamette in mid-October, staying in Dundee, and tasting across two days. It's our first time tasting in Oregon.

So far, here is my plan:

Day 1: (Self-driving up from Eugene)

Bryn Mawr

Lingua Franca

Bergstrom

Maybe one of the tasting rooms in Dundee or dinner at Trellis (maybe both?)

Day 2: (hired driver)

Rodeo Hills

Patricia Green

Beaux Freres

Possibly a fourth?

We're red wine/cabernet people at heart. Happy to taste a Chard here or there, but mostly want to focus on Pinot. We like good wine (and learning new things), but also like a hearty pour while sitting back and just enjoying ourselves.

Other options I've considered: Archery Summit, White Hill, Drouhin, Cristom, Granville, and Soter.

We've ruled out Antica Terra, sorry to disappoint, as I know it's a favorite in this sub.

First QB - Gold/Gold Birkin 35

I’m still in shock! My SA texted me yesterday with an offer I genuinely thought would never come. My store is small and super competitive. I’ve heard of people being 3:1 before getting a bag, and my SA was very upfront with me that they only get 2-3 B35s a year. Another SA I’m friendly with at the store came over and hugged me and was really sweet. He was SHOCKED I got this 35 as a first QB. The look he gave my SA was priceless.

The offer came almost 2 years to the day from my first purchase. My pre-spend was around 1:5:1, closer to 2:1 including a KTG I purchased early on and a watch I’ve paid the deposit on but hasn’t arrived yet.

Feeling incredibly happy, grateful, and as I said, in shock. Pictured here with a twilly I barely remember picking out 😅 and her identical baby sister.

TNS Serum not lasting as long?

I finally got one of the new TNS bottles, and it lasted about half as long as I was getting out of the previous bottle format. Has anyone else noticed/experienced this? I don't know if the new pumps are dispensing more product or if I'm losing my mind...

Headscarf - best friend has cancer

My best friend was just diagnosed with cancer. She is the smartest (neuroscience-PHD), funniest, most wonderful person.

She texted me about helping her get a headscarf from H. For those of you who have sourced scarves for friends / yourself when going through cancer, do you have any advice on sizing or other pearls of wisdom on what works well and what doesn't? We're in our mid-30's, so I'm thinking something fun, but also classic that will hopefully serve her well long after she's kicked cancer's ass.

I did a cursory search of this sub and didn't see any threads pop up... but if there is already a good thread that I missed, I'd welcome being pointed in that direction.

Edit: THANK YOU everyone, so much for weighing in. It looks like I'll be picking up a 90cm from my SA ASAP. And thank you for all the kind comments and well wishes. And a heartfelt internet hug to everyone whose gone or is going through this as well.
