Some Biomes thoughts

I really hate the Scorching Volcano Dungeon...

Though I understand that it is just a mid-tolate game stage.
They say that I need to finish it before moving to Radioactive Plateau and to the Snowy North even more so. But actually I visited almost 60% of North (Mountains) locations and 80% of Plateau: it is much-much easier to survive there than in Volcano.

May be the thing is we need not explore each biome one by one as a "staircase", but do them in parallel..? Would be glad to hear your thoughts.

Sunset in the Mountains

During this "red-hot-chili-Summer" we all need some calm and snowy dusk vibes ;)

Just some black-&-white vibes

My first experience with the Snowy biome in a server playthrough.

West-Rainforest early-to-mid-game base on a Server .

Another base-building experiment. This time for the tiny private server game.

An unexpected shortage of Technology points compared to solo-play. Now I have to choose which knowledge to sacrifice. :-( Unfortunately, distributing responsibilities equally between the players is impossible. For various reasons, I'm traditionally the one handling all the housekeeping and crafting. And the unlocked knowledge for this is nearly half as much as I'm used to in the single-player campaign.

Well... We'll see...

The Chieftain's Mansion (Bronze Age). W.i.P.

I am back.
At last, my Waterfall Pyramid is starting to look like a normal, functional base.

Had no idea that coloring our buildings is _so grindy_ ;) But that's OK. I'll be patient.

Second Base. New Location, New Prospects

[SinglePlayer, no 'Creative mode']

Chose the cool waterfall west of 'Rain-Forest'. Close to both forest-region Barracks, both tin and copper pits and mines, and for the next Plateau exploration expeditions. Had to terraform this wilderness a bit. It should turn out to be something impressive.

And yes, the long staircase down to the copper pit seemed quite useful in general.

Some 'Bridge-Addiction'. Now in SoulMask

I'm sure I'm not the only one who builds a bridge across the River to make running back and forth easier ;)

Again, my pain was this "3 elements of stability limitation" :(
Hope devs will change this towards smth more convenient.

Starter Jungle Base (Singleplayer)

I'll risk posting my early (experimental) base in the starting jungle.

It's obviously quite a naive and primitive design, but it allowed me to learn a lot about the game's mechanics, so I don't regret the time I spent on it.

My impressions after first 75 hrs here

Despite the constant "Conan: Exiles" vibes, this game has its own atmosphere and deep beauty. The world is literally vast. I'm enchanted.

(I have some gripes with some of the building mechanics, but since the game is still in development, I'll wait for the corresponding improvements.)

P.S. And yes, I see that 95% of posts here are devoted to the Shifting Sands DLC for now. Still, I want to be consistent and play through the base game in the Pre-Columbian Jungle first. So, I'll allow myself to post my impressions of it here from time to time.

Sao Feng's Baths at "New Singapore"

I think I finished them at last.

Still need to work on the whole base. My character decided to locate it on the Smugglers' Island. And I like to hear the viby roar of sea battles all around.

"New Singapore" W.i.P.: testing Sao Feng's Baths

Feeling I am close enough to my final "picture" of this creativity.

Lots of thanks to @DoctorFeh for the tip about kilns for the steam effect.
(actually, I use all three main steam-sources here: fireplace chimneys, charcoal kilns, and smelting furnaces)

Some more "New Singapore" base (W.i.P.)

I use Freecam-mod from time to time (for screenshots first of all), but there are no "freebuild-mods" here.

Fortunately, I have no need to grind resources (except Iron): I've got enough money, so I buy lots of wood and stone from my vendors.

Some Mysteries of Haunted Tortuga

I don't consider these shots to be spoilers.

After all, this region is clearly still in development. There's every reason to believe the location will change quite soon with the release of the Ashlands update. And further metamorphoses will follow.

For the same reason, it's safe to assume that those currently in this region will soon no longer be able to witness all of this.

New entrance to the Trader in Tortuga Refugee Camp.

I've seen people slap a regular staircase on this terrace, but it starts to look a bit odd. I decided to show respect for the island's inhabitants and add a more inviting staircase in the local style.

A combat life-hack for solo players who do not good enough in "Dark-Souls style"

I had no difficulties with fighting in "AC: Black Flag". I am used to fighting systems of Valheim, Enshrouded and Conan.. But here are some moments, which upset, like Stamina-drainage and general enemy-toughness. Not being frustrating itself -- in general, I consider the current combat-system to be quite fair. But this regular need in Dash is too hard for me. I cannot Dodge normally in almost all the games. So, parrying in perfect block + distanced attacks are my usual way.

But here we can also use fences and the half-walls to construct some henge / enclosure to fight from within. It saves lots of time and nerves for solo-players here (especially newbies).
And we cannot name this tactis 100% "cheating", because some strong enemies can hit you even through these fortifications. "Grass walls" could even be destroyed.
And "Alpha wolf" can jump inside with his "red attack" and start tearing you.

But generally it is a great opportunity to clear the territory from agressive mobs for your needs and do more exploration than dozens "corpse-runs". That is fair enough. And those "daredevils" who likes toughness and extreme can ignore this tip and continue the straight-way of fight.
