I've been reading the Picatrix but the frequent use of astrological jargon makes it impossible for me to actually immerse myself in the text. There is a glossary included in the back, but I feel like that only gets me halfway as I don't have the fundamentals down for the historical astrology in question.

What are ways I could learn more about the concepts it utilizes, preferably from a more academic/historical perspective?
