Anyone here part of IBEW? I reallllly want to apply for an apprenticeship but wondering how competitive/ hard it is to get in....

I am 24f currently living in Colorado. I am interested in becoming an electrician but have no clue where to start. As a woman I feel very intimidated in such a male dominant industry but I know I do a good job with hands on work and long days. I’ve been in the trades doing flooring for about a year now but I’m looking to expand my knowledge and really start to think about a career that has better longevity on my body.. I’d be so grateful for any advice as to where to start, what to look out for, what to avoid etc :)

I am 24f and moving to Broomfield with my partner 26f and we are so excited. What is the queer scene like in the area/ surrounding areas? I’m worried there aren’t many people are age but given that it’s a beautiful location makes up for it. We have lived in Austin and loved it but eventually decided we weren’t big city people. Hoping broomfield is a great fresh start. Any feedback on lifestyle, people, anything would be greatly appreciated!

I am (24F) and new to the industry and looking to dip my toes into different trades to see what I like. I have been doing hardwood flooring and I do enjoy it, but I am starting to think about longevity. Everyone that I talk to says if they could go back they would be an electrician. There isn’t really a trade im closed off too, and I know electricians can do quite well. As a female I do feel a bit intimidated. For any blue collar electricians what was your journey like? What are some good first steps? Who should I contact first? I also want to avoid going back to school so hoping to get all my experience from on the job. My ultimate goal is to eventually start my own business one day. Any advice would be so helpful!!

Side note: I live in the Denver metro area. I know each state has different laws.. if that helps any
