Where to recycle laptops?

I have 2 laptops and 1 tablet to recycle. The hard drives are still in there. At least one of them is totally inaccessible. From what I read online, OCCRA does not accept electronics like this. But Staples and Best Buy do. Anyone have a recommendation for which to go to, or another site? I'm assuming they wipe data from files from hard drives, right?

Advice appreciated!

Apartment in Hamburg, Germany?

This is unconventional and a long shot, but I'm posting on behalf of my dear friend I met on the Camino in 2019. She is from Hamburg, Germany and I from the US. We've stayed close ever since ☺️.

I was just speaking with her about her difficulties in finding a new apartment to rent in West Hamburg. Apparently the rental market is really tough; she's been looking for 7 months. We talked about putting the request "out into the universe" and I told her I'd post in the Camino group to see if there are any Camino alumni in the Hamburg area with rental connections.

She's one of the sweetest and most reflective people I know. Works at a school. Her budget is 850€ warm (meaning, with utilities included). If anyone reading this resonates with this message and knows of an available apartment, please message me!

Thank you & buen camino.

Scoliosis doctor/specialist?

Hi, looking for a doctor in the area that specializes in scoliosis in adults. No, not a chiropractor or general back doctor, but someone who is verifiably an expert in managing scoliosis. Also, any PTs who know a lot about working with the condition would be helpful. Thanks!

Lost all my saved games progress?! Please Help!

Guys, I think I did something stupid and don't know how to undue it. I've been playing RCT1 on GOG, usually launching through the GOG Galaxy App. This is a program I've never used before this game.

Every time I launch it asks me something about syncing and I always "Ignore" the pop up. Tonight, however, it didn't give me an option to ignore and I had to select a sync option. Honestly, I don't even know which I picked, but I think I synced to my online GOG account? Literally never used that since I purchased and downloaded the games.

Anyways, now when I launch RCT1 and try to open my saved game from yesterday, I can't. All my progress is gone! When I try to open yesterday's game, it says I can't because I don't have access to that scenario yet! I can see they're darkened all the scenario levels I previously completed, as if I never did them!

What do I do? I can see in my local drive where the 41 saved games are. How do I get RCT1 to recognize them and honor my progress made?

Job Searching, What to do?

I've been applying for jobs for about 5.5 months in preparation for graduation (a couple weeks ago). I still haven't secured anything and have only been able to get 2 interviews and 1 informational interview that didn't lead anywhere.

I live far from the major anchor city in my state. There are other cities around I'd be willing to move to, 150k- 280k population. But there don't seem to be new jobs popping up and I've already reached out to and applied where there were/are openings. I've also reached out to places with no job postings. What do I do? I could apply for jobs in the big city where I have no connections and there's more competition, or else I apply for jobs in random cities in other states. Like, I could apply for jobs in the middle of nowhere State A, or for jobs across the country in State Q, but I don't know anything about those environments and again, have no connections.

Handshake doesn't have a lot of relevant or local jobs. My school isn't much help at all. In fact, my professors, including the professional practice professor, have encouraged us not to take the first job you're offered and instead really think about the kind of work and office environment you want, and select the job that's really the best fit....as if we have options... I know I can't expect my dream job right out of school, but I thought I'd at least have one offer to take up.

Most students that found jobs seem to have been hired wherever they did their internships last summer. I unfortunately had a useless internship at the state DOT and they're not hiring anyway. Feeling discouraged and confused.

I can't afford to be unemployed for the next 4- 9 months. I have to support myself. What do I do? How have others navigated this in recent years, or maybe in '08? Wondering what advice other professors and professionals have.
