Progesterone and MMC

TW: Pregnancy

This is my first month using progesterone pessaries and I’ve really not asked any questions about it.

I’m still only 4 weeks, so very nervous.

My thoughts at the moment are would progesterone delay a non-viable pregnancy if it was eg. genetic abnormalities?

I’m 41, so obviously, should expect egg quality to be not as good as it used to be. I know I need progesterone because I’m perimenopausal as was on HRT until I tested positive but I just keep thinking there won’t be anything there at the 7wk scan.

What should my expectations be?

Progesterone & cramping

TW: Pregnancy

I’m premenopausal and was on HRT until BFP and I’m now 4w+0, first time using progesterone pessaries, I’m getting quite bad cramping towards the end of the dose, just before the next pessary. Like if this was expected period pains then I’d take painkillers.

After a short time of the next pessary being in, the cramping disappears.

Is this normal and nothing to worry about or should I try to contact the doctor and see if 3 a day would help?

I read the cyclogest side effect “Mild Cramping: Slight uterine cramping is common in early pregnancy and with progesterone use.” I’m not sure this is mild.

I don’t think this is our time this time.

HRT & Pregnancy

I’m 27 days into taking estrogen and cyclical progesterone and I had a positive pregnancy test this morning.

NHS website says I should stop taking the HRT. I am waiting a call back from recurrent miscarriage clinic I’m under.

But wondering if anyone has any experience of being on HRT when getting pregnant and stayed pregnant?
