If anyone asks 'why do you even need that' - "99-year-old woman called 911 while being attacked in a home invasion. It took cops 3 hours to respond"

I don't understand just how far under the radar reporting like this flies...

Any argument that you or I shouldn't have the ability to defend ourselves - in order make us safer somehow - is an asinine one made by unserious people.

I just saw something super racist and I froze (Scheels)

So long story short I was walking up to scheels and i noticed an older gentleman (black) who was walking to his car with what appeared to be (and later confirmed to be) his grandkids abruptly turned around and walked towards this black pickup that appeared to be backing up to leave in the sane isle.

I didn't catch the first part but I heard the guy ask pickup truck guy what he said and the guy meekly said back "it was kind of a joke but I said I would of hit you if it was night time".

I honestly having seen something this... blatantky racist up close before. And I froze. Stopped walking. My jaw hit the floor and I looked at the older gentleman who simply turned around and started walking back to his car.

I said aloud "that's not ok" when in my head I was screaming "that's not ok". I then said sorrowfully 'I'm sorry' when the older gentleman passed by me.

Older guy then yelled 'you're lucky I'm with my grandkids' and at this point I was crossing the road to get to the front of scheels.... and black pickup truck guy then turned right down the parking isle directly in front of where older guy parked and proceeded to stop in front of the space in front of where he was parked.

I saw that as a red flag and camped there until black pickup truck guy looped back around and came up the same lane me and older guy were parked in and turned out to leave - I stayed til I saw him drive a comfortable distance away and older guy backed out and began to leave.

I honestly feel like shit I didn't immediately yell at black pickup truck guy and I honestly had trouble believing that he just said what he said. But I felt an obligation to immediately stick up for the poor older guy and feel I didn't deliver...

What would you have done? Ever see something like that up close?
