Looking at PS 124 for my daughter, mainly because of the strong academics. I already know Black kids are few there, that’s not the question. I want to know how it actually feels.
Do your kids feel included or like an afterthought? Are they one of very few in their class? How are teachers and other families? Anything you wish you’d known before enrolling?
She’s a little Black girl and I just want a real picture before I commit. DMs fine if you’d rather not post publicly.
Does NYU actually have an RN-to-BSN program?
I’m an ASN student in NYC trying to map out my BSN options for after I pass NCLEX. I was under the impression NYU had an RN-to-BS pathway, but I can’t find an actual program page, curriculum, credit breakdown, or how the process works for an associate’s grad.
Does anyone here actually know if it exists as a real pathway, or do they really only run the accelerated BS and traditional 4-year? If you went through it, how did it work — credits accepted from your ASN, online/in-person, length, cost?
Thank you!
Most of the schools in my area have low ratings and I don’t want to go the charter route. Private school isn’t realistic for us, and neither is moving to a different district , rent alone would wipe me out.
So I applied to the few programs I actually liked and ended up waitlisted at all of them. I had a feeling it was going to happen because everything is zoned.
I’m not looking for anything fancy. Just somewhere my daughter can actually be taught and looked after by adults who are present. It shouldn’t feel this hard to find, but here we are.
Also does anyone has experience with PS. 63 Star Academy, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. I was also considering the charter school NYFACS. Reviews, impressions, anything. Trying to get a real sense of the schools from people who’ve actually been there.
Anyone else in District 9 (or nearby) been through this? Any recommendations? I am willing to have a longer commuteDid your waitlist ever move, or did you end up finding something you didn’t expect to like?
I remember stumbling upon a NYC website where I could rank all public and charter schools based on test results. It was not an excel file but a table from a website if I am not mistaken. Does anyone know what I’m talking about and can please give me a link?
