Bruh. Seriously...?

I had 2 small vials and 1 large vials in this run, not to mention an astronaut figure AND the resurrection xerox thingy activated. I thought this was the attempt where I kill Nemisis. I only faced him 3 times before but every time I got to 2nd phase, so I thought if I had enough health I could beat him. And THIS happens. Fml man.

Laptops suggestion

I'm looking to buy a laptop, mid range. A decent laptop with an okay graphics would do. Price range is around ₹50,000 or $520 or €450.

14" or 15.6" is fine

Basic work and light gaming

If there's an option for a decent graphics card I can try to get a bit more amount for it.

Okay with used ones, a bit afraid to buy it because of warranty reasons tho

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance

[CR Media] First time watching Candela Obscura post

I was already questioning whether the setup was fucked up or Matt was going hard on the players because it was a 3 episode campaign. Now I'm in episode 2 of 2nd season, I can see that Matt was taking it WAY easier on the players.

I love Spenser's GMing, like he's directing a movie or pitching it, and the players are like writers or assistant directors collaborating Spenser's story. But the guy is going for the fucking jugular with every damn check. Like "Can I check my watch for time?" Spenser: "sure. Since you rolled 5, you also experience PTSD of you killing children and take 3 body and 13 bleed", like dude CALM DOWN.

Dropping 2 people just for looking at A Big bad was bad enough but the 2nd episode just took the cake. Now I'm nervous to watch the 3rd episode. One thing tho, I LOVED the fake out letter for Sean. That was epic. Kinda sad that it took me this long to find this, I straight up didn't think it was DND nor CR content. Love how every player is approaching the story, but my favourite here are Howard, Sean, and Marion, especially loved the bromance bw Sean and Marion.

A little help with my build

I'm looking to upgrade my processor, and I'm interested in Ryzen, I liked Ryzen 5 9600X, but the description says it supports DDR5 Memory. Does that mean DDR5 RAM??? Coz I have DDR4 already and would like to keep using it.

If I can't use those RAMs, could you please suggest me a processor like 9600X?

Thanks in advance

PS: would love a suggestion for mother board as well to go along with the processor.

[Spoilers C4E31] Brennan saving his own ass

I usually post about the episodes after watching it again for the 2nd time on Tuesday (I'm from India, so). But I just wanted to share a few things.

I love that Brennan is such a people's DM, and how he lives for the bit (several Game changer episodes for example), and LOVES what he does. Most people know he has A LOT on his plate and he brought THIS (by this I mean the 13 people table monstrosity) on himself, and he loves to do it.

But, it seems we have now seen where he draws the line and where he stops being the masochist. There were a shit ton of loose ends and plot hooks left all over the place thanks to the last few episodes that I had to post "How fucked are they" to sort out all the mess they made.

I'm sure after Episode 30 Brennan sat down to check all the shit he had to sort out for the finale and went "fuck that" lol. While he was saying he was there to delee some players, it was very clear he was taking it easy on them for the most case. When the one unavoidable death happened, it left a whole lot of shit in the most dangerous place in Dol Makjar which Brennan HAD to fix or the Tachonis would have HAD to act based on all the info left to them.

Thanks to Thimble deciding to return to the house, Brennan used that as an excuse to get rid of all the shit that would come back to bite him in the ass later, and used that as a character moment to transfer the breaches to Thimble, and get them out of there with practically no danger whatsoever so he can just close the book on that. That is the moment anyone can see the DM going thank GOD that's over, now I don't have to worry about that. I can't lie, I was a little (to a lot) disappointed that that wasn't going to resolve in an explosive way, but I was a little relieved on behalf of the players as well.

One thing I was a lot disappointed about was how Hannan was resolved. Hannan was supposed to come here with Vaelus and Vaelus would have gotten Hannan to go for stealth instead of just walking to the front door with his dick out. I mean, what's with the druids and their arrogance (or is it ego) to just go "I'm gonna walk like I own the world", like even Thaisha is like that some times. They're acting like the sundered houses minus the evil shit, of course. Anyway, to my point, when I saw that Hannan got from the roof to the front door, I wrote him off as dead, but boy Primus was so unhinged he killed him at the door. I actually believed Primus when he was very chill about paying 10 Mil per house and slowing down when he was "money poor and land poor". That lunatic is running against a clock... What's happening in a year???? To overcomplicate things, Wick just walked there like the king of the world because he was allowed to sit in a single meeting. Dude you survived the wild to die at a dinner???

And the theatre.... Was the Halovars' only plan was to just jail Hal as retaliation for the play? I think the sister Halovar just got a dumb idea and ran with it or Brennan just wanted to resolve it in the next arc so he just gave the players the win. I mean not even a threat to lock down the theatre because reasons? I don't buy it. I think he was in that timeline where he had to cook the 2nd arc for CR and/or the next season of D20, so he wanted to land this arc with as low of a turbulence as he can and did it, I'm assuming of course, but this is far from what Brennan can do with this. I'd love it if he comes back with the same force in the 2nd arc and land it a lot better when it comes to an end. Can't wait for Einfasen arc (fingers crossed).

[Spoilers C4E30] Exactly how FUCKED are they???

The last few episodes were wild AF. Without pointing fingers, some decisions were super crazy which directly or indirectly fucked the parties. I wanna wrap my head around how FUCKED they actually are because of these...

If you said Wick/Tyranny team would have been the most successful team out of these, I would NOT have believed you. Now because Wick and Tyranny weren't capable, but because they're practically in the lioness' den with only one guy to back then up. Unfortunately, Bolaire's inability to access how much danger they're actually in nearly killed them twice now. Hope they learnt there are scarier things in the world than them.

I don't know if it is Ashley or Vaelus that's so sceptical that she'll pour her heart out to Hannan but not tell him the location of one person he's been looking for since he's been introduced as an NPC. The main "mission" he had since he was introduced was to find Mara. I do NOT understand why Vaelus was so comfortable sharing her past with him, ask his help going back to her Homeland, have him hold a VERY important relic to her, but not share the location of his friend who is being held captive. Also to tell "I don't know you, you're practically a stranger to me" to him as the reason why she didn't share it. Like, girl, you poured your heart out to him like for an hour. I really hope there's a reason and it's not just Vaelus being petty or selfish or something like that.

Finally, the most fucked party of five. From the start, Occtis' assumptions about where the objectives are was so bad that Brennan had to come up with "visions" that actually redirect the party to the actual location. Also, after Brennan, the DM, said out loud "the threat has NOT been assessed* properly", and "I planned these fights with 13 players in mind" and then deciding to split up the party? I was matching Travis' pitch when I was shouting "Don't split the party". I knew Julien is going to run off on his own, because it was too important for him, and he's a bit of a dick. But, Travis/Teor being peer pressured into going to find the gnomes was PAINFUL to watch. I was praying that Travis/Teor would decide to accompany Julien and then they all go to check the gnomes, but damn. Then came Julien's choice. When Julien learnt of Teor's predicament, I was probably too soon to be overjoyed that Teor is saved, but Brennan dropping that choice for Julien, man, that was just PAINful. I know Julien is a nice enough guy who'd at least attempt to help his party, but with that big of a choice, 10 out of 10 times he's going to leave.

Now, with this clusterfuck of an encounter, Teor and Cyd, 2 Paladins are dead in Tachonis mansion, who are searching (read hunting) for Paladins for something. Not to mention Cyd had actually been captured by them once already. Teor being someone in the Halovar watchlist, dying while wearing Royce breaches and holding an Einfasen hammer, which was given to Julien by the daughter of THE OTTO EINFASEN. Oh my fuck, the can of worms that can actually open when Primus sees it an hour after Otto went "Just because you're goth, doesn't mean you're strong". And as if this is not enough, Thimble is hanging back, with Hannan just landing on the roof with a fucking lightening storm. With Mara gone, if they want they could take Hannan as prisoner. I really hope Hannan is as high a level as I imagine him to be. There are only a few times I've actually been this stressed about DND. Like the Vecna fight, the infamous 1 second TPK from Calamity, Yasha being taken over by Obann fight, many fights in A Crown of Candy, etc. I really hope the rest are alive by the end of the next episode.

Edit to add my take on why Axe in manor is important: Primus, who I assume, is suspicious AND paranoid. so, in my head, it will play out as if Primus just take the presence of Einfasen weapon carried into his home by a wanted man by Halovars is a big deal. I think he'll assume that Einfasen hired Teor to kidnap Wick and when it failed, he sent him to the manor when he KNEW the family would not be around to kill his son and steal Mara for himself.

Otto did lose his cool when he was talking to Primus, so with all the evidence Otto produced, it's not brainer for Primus to think that Otto already decided that I betrayed him so he sent in Teor to fuck my shit up. that's why the axe there could be the last straw that might break the alliance.

Edit 2: I see some people saying Vaelus didn't know Mara was there. There was a whole episode of them strategizing where to go, and the team name for rescuing Mara was Team Bird rescue, which then turned Bird Watch. I know for a fact Vaelus was in the meeting and in true Ashley fashion, Vaelus was one of the last to pick the team she wanted to join. AND even if Ashley was THAT forgetful, Hannan point blank asked if Vaelus wanted to help rescue Mara (after learning her location from Azunee) and Vaelus said no.

[Spoilers C4E29] What an episode... What an opening

Where the fuck do I even start. Maybe from the cold opening??? Leave it to Brennan to bring in a character who has revealed little to no backstory into a cabin to shank him a couple times, and do it AGAIN at the end of the episode.

I know Luis has the resident sad boi title this season, but damn, the acting prowess of Robbie when he locks in has no match. I fkn died at "I didn't mean to give up", only for Brennan to go "Maybe your wife and daughter left you, or maybe they never existed" like, how can you be so casually cruel...??

Then there's the opening, it needs an entire new post to express my emotions on it, so I'll do it once the play is done, I guess. I loved the love Brennan, Liam, and Aabria showed the theatre.

One thing that bothered me the most last episode was the split up of parties. It seemed right that only 3 went to Halovar party, but I was really worried that only 4-5 were going to Tachonis mansion. Yes, the theatre threat was not clear, but there were like 300 soldiers there. It would have made sense to leave Hal, Azune, Thaisha there and get all others to Tachonis manor. I'm pretty sure they could have used a wizard or a warrior who is hard to kill, and maybe Hannan (because I remember Brennan subtly nudging Ashley to reveal where Mara is so maybe those 2 could go there as well, but Ashley/Vaelus was occupied with something else she wanted to talk about). Now those 5 are already pretty banged up and JUST got into the veil (?), with no idea what's on the other side. Fingers crossed Brennan adjusted the scaling.

Finally the meeting. I knew, even with all the evidence, that there is not going to be a fight broken out, but I expected Primus to be dethroned or lose aids of the other houses or straight up exiled (or whatever it's called) from the council. But the bastard managed to gain some more respect through his display of "truthfulness" (Primus, we all know you only told SOME of the truth to make them trust you again, and omitted all the other projects you have working on with the path, with Titus, with the giant hands looking for Thjazi, etc).

What's even more terrifying is that Primus just revealed that yes he was working on that, but also revealed all the shit the other houses are trying to pull, which only pushes the other houses to push to achieve their goal even faster. I was afraid of Tachonis and Halovar houses all these episodes, but now with Termina, I am afraid of what Cormuray is building and how Termina is going to twist it so she can "kill a god again". My stomach just turned writing that.

You know some of the games shows a glimpse of dragons/ monsters/ bosses we could fight way ahead of time so we enter their arena terrified of what we're about to face???? This episode just turned that knob all the way up for me. Pray for all of us for the next few episodes of convergence.

Edit: Just realised how both of Kat's level ups are when he was at his lowest. that's a guy punch that I didn't need

[Spoilers C4E25] What a ride...

I know I've said to myself "this is the best episode, no this one" 7-8 times this campaign alone, which only has 25 episode total. But I think this takes the biggest cake

Whoa... What an episode. Can't believe Brennan is able to pull a Red Wedding ish episode like 3 - 4 times now, and it's still fucking great to watch and still be amazed. Also his ability to come up with unique battles when it matters is crazy.

From the battle set-up to setting up a puzzle for schemers to crack, the battle was crazy from top to bottom. Starting the battle with a poisoned king, "killing" the Photarch in the first round, he set the tone of the battle right at the beginning, made players make right decisions and not die (especially Murray who was right in the middle of the blood bath). Also gave Murray/Marisha some leeway so she can stay invisible thus stay alive.

Also, kinda pissed that he was able to fool me with the death of Photarch because when she "fell", I was so confused about how a high level cleric/sorcerer (she was able to cast Wish, a 9th level spell to get her son, she's super high level) was knocked out by a single bolt, but his ruse with the Nat 1 roll distracted me from that train of thought and made me so stressed and confused.

The core of the battle is very much >!"The battle of the Sucrosi road" from A Crown of Candy!<, but he added so many layers to it and twists that it felt so fucking different and unique and awesome. In my 2nd and 3rd rewatch of the episode I could NOT stop imagining Lou sitting there giving the same looks he was giving in ExU Calamity.

Brennan is endlessly creative, but I really wish he kinda includes hints of some of his best work from D20 here as well. Also, would love it if Sam (or Whitney) is able to pull a "Where's your light now?" on Brennan.

PS: Always a fan of him hyping up the players calls and moves, Marisha deserved that praise for the portant move.
