The Cult Of LUV (Southwest Airlines)

The Cult Of LUV (Southwest Airlines)

Wow! I didn't know I was in a cult. I'm not a fan of the changes, especially the outrageous price increases. But having 2 CPs and ALP status makes flying SW a no-brainer. My kids grew up flying SW and it was cheap and convenient. Now they've grown and starting their adult lives, so it'll just be the two of us. Also, we may only qualify for one companion pass, and probably get AL next year, so maybe we'll try other carriers. Thinking of Alaska. Anyone else believe this is a cult?

Alaska and Hawaiian lead domestic airlines for 2H2025 WiFi consistency

From https://www.ookla.com/articles/worlds-fastest-in-flight-wi-fi

These numbers appear to include Starlink for both airlines, so probably lumps in regional carriers for Alaska. Spotted on r/delta after only 2.2% of data points collected on that airline were above 25 Mbps download + 3 Mbps upload

In my experience, non-Starlink Alaska WiFi is fast enough to work and stream around 75% of the time and completely unusable the other 25%, so this kind of matches up with that. I have a feeling people will have strong opinions on this one

Just got another one of those unique offers to change my flight and receive Southwest LUV Voucher(s)® travel credit.

I did this before flying solo and got the $20 voucher emailed within minutes. I even ended up cancelling that flight and SW did not claw back the voucher. Just a data point for those wondering.

This time I have my wife travelling on my reservation as well as my son on my companion pass. Before I click on one of the options to continue, has anyone done this before with other people on their resevation and/or with their companion? I know companions get a separate confirmation #, and usually I can't change a reservation until I cancel the companion reservation. So, I am wondering if I click through the option will it allow me to also include my wife and my son (companion). I encountered glitches in the past and thinking $20 is not worth the hassle, but an extra day would be helpful.
