honest thoughts after switching from tirz to reta
Did about six months on tirzepatide before making the switch and the honest answer is they're both solid but they hit differently. Tirz was smoother on side effects early on but reta was noticeably stronger on actual fat loss and my energy levels felt better too, which I'm guessing is the glucagon component doing its thing. The transition around weeks two and three was a bit rough but it evened out. Wouldn't tell anyone tirz is a bad choice, it just wasn't the ceiling for me.
I tracked my resting heart rate for a full year before and after starting Mounjaro and the pattern really surprised me
I wear an Oura ring so I have heart rate data going back like two years. When I started Mounjaro, my resting heart rate was around 78 beats per minute. My doctor said it was fine but on the higher side. The first three months on the drug were rough honestly. My resting heart rate jumped up to 88. I almost stopped because I could feel my heart pounding when I was just sitting on the couch. My doctor said this is a known thing and usually stabilizes.
She was right. Around month four, my heart rate started trending down. By month six, it was back to 78. By month eight, it was down to 72. Now at month 12, it's settled around 68, which is actually lower than my pre-Mounjaro baseline. I found a paper in the American Journal of Cardiology that explains what happened. The initial increase is real and it's because GLP-1s have direct effects on the sinoatrial node (that's the natural pacemaker of the heart). The increase is dose dependent and transient. The long term effect is neutral to positive, driven by weight loss and reduced inflammation.
Transitioning to Gray Hair - Makeup changes?
I’m officially embracing my silver. But now my usual warm-toned makeup looks a bit off. Did anyone else have to change their palette?
Hello, looking for some advice. I’m trying to find a projector that can actually work outdoors during daylight, and I’m not sure what specs really matter most. In the past, we’ve used TVs, but once the sun comes out, the picture becomes almost impossible to see. I’ve been looking at options like the Dangbei DBOX02 Pro 4K Laser Projector, but I’m still unsure if brightness alone is enough or if I’d also need to build some kind of shaded setup or enclosure around the screen. The main goal is to watch football games outside during the day, so any advice on what to prioritize, lumens, screen type, or setup, would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!
