I am looking to get my dad onto some searun cuttys as he has been talking about it for awhile. I have had great luck before on the Miami and Yachats, but those are little further than we have time for. We have some access to the lower Nestucca, and the salmon/steelhead crowds have cleared out down there by now. Anyone have any luck there for the ole blue backs? Or can recommend anywhere else between Newport and Tillamook areas? Much appreciated in advance!

I was noticing that although the Beav’s class recruiting ranking may not be super high right now, it seems like we are getting a lot of commits with power 4 school offers. I did some crunching of the numbers and discovered that the class we are recruiting has drawn way more interest from power 4 schools compared to the second class that Bray and his staff brought to Corvallis. Below are the comparison of percentage of commits with at least one “power 4” school offer in the years 2025 vs. 2027. I did not count Wazzu as a P.4 school in the data compilation. Although I will always view my PAC brothers in as a power program.

2025 class(Bray’s 2nd year): 35%
2027 Class (Shep’s 1st year): 59%
This includes the commit of Thaddeus Thatcher although it isn’t listed in 247 or rivals yet.

As you can see, we are currently seeing an increase of 24% of players with P.4 offers compared to Bray’s second offer season. That’s pretty impressive for an entirely new coaching staff
