The world record highest temperature from 1913 is so bogus that even a group of prominent climate skeptics want the WMO to rescind it.

Roy Spencer and John Christy, both climate skeptics, wrote a paper requesting the WMO to decertify the record.

Seriously don’t.

That blog made by Tony Heller simply compares old NASA/NOAA graphs to new ones and then jumps to claim data fabrication/fraud. It shits on temperature adjustments that are necessary for removing non-climatic artifacts that artificially warm/cool the temperatures. Heller also creates graphs that simply average the raw temperature data of the weather stations without gridding or accounting for station moves.

In fact, as historical ocean temperatures were adjusted more upward than land temperatures downward, the adjusted global temperatures actually show less warming. https://www.carbonbrief.org/explainer-how-data-adjustments-affect-global-temperature-records/ (Some source links are broken. Sorry.) And even some prominent climate skeptics have lambasted Heller for his very poor methodology and understanding of data science and distanced away from him.

It bashes pretty much all other accredited scientific organizations that acknowledge climate change as well. JMA, Berkeley Earth, meteorological offices around the world, etc. are somehow all on the same train.

Europe is having a historic heatwave. Why do people still say “it’s just summer” and bring up 1976?

I’m really tired of these people making such statements. Many countries there have broken their record high temperatures, and thousands have died to the heat. I want to know why they bring up 1976 and how they’re similar at all.
