G1 Explorer & Tennessee Gravel

Picked up a flat bar G1 Explorer on clearance. Swapped out the saddle and threw on some 45mm SS Gravelkings.

After about a hundred miles I can safely say this big dawg can punch well above the price class after the right upgrades and a quick QC check.

FB Marketplace - Checkpoint ALR 5 Value

Hey guys!

Looking for a drop-bar gravel bike around the 1k range and found this 2023 Checkpoint ALR5 Driftless for sale nearby.

I’m primarily riding on chunkier gravel, fire roads, and light single tracks with some paved trails mixed in. I’ve also been looking into doing a few gravel races in my area as well, but not my main priority.

I don’t live in a super steep environment, so the gearing on will work for me and I like the 1x drivetrain with a dropper post.

This bikes seems to a pretty good jack of all trades when it comes to my needs on a gravel bike and I really like the color-way. My questions are as follows:

  1. Do you guys feel this is worth the asking price with the age and dent on the frame?
  2. I’m 6’1” with a 35” inseam, would a 56cm frame be too small in the first place?
  3. What other recommendations would you suggest at my price point new or used?

Thanks in advance!

New to MTB - Just Picked Up my First Hardtail, Any Suggestions?

Hey guys!

Just picked up my first hardtail to get into mountain biking. Found an XL 2021 Roscoe 7 for 400$ on Facebook marketplace from a guy who stated it he only rode it a handful of times and kept it in a garage for most of its life.

Already cleaned off all the dust, cleaned and re-lubed the chain, and changed the grips out. Took it on a few easy green trails in my area to test it out and I’m hooked.

Any maintenance videos or suggestions to check out before I start taking this thing out more frequently? I’d love to learn as much as I can!

Thanks in advance.
