Intrested in owning millepedes

hello everyone! i am an italian university student majoring in zoology, with a specific interest in arthropods. i've only ever kept insects, specifically beetles. i've always wanted to own giant millipedes, as i find them incredibly adorable, and i would like having an arthropod that has a longer lifespan (i've only ever kept cetonids, which as you probably know have very long larvae and pupation stages, so you never really get to "enjoy them" and their company). i want to be as prepared as possible, as i wouldn't take responsibility of owning animal that i didn't know everything about (in terms of caring for them).

so, please, inform me on anything you can! for example, what specie should i look into? any care tips? thank you so much guys!

EDIT: also, any information about soil, feeding etc etc...

help me identify this specific specie of Carabidae beetle!u

i just realized how horrible this picture looks, but i was planning on "describing it" anyway. it was feeding on a bird carcass, it had a metallic shine reflection in the sun, blueish-purpleish. found in Parma, Italy.

MTU can't open her wings?

this is my third time trying to post this! i don't know why it won't let me post it with the video attached. my MTU beetle has tried to open her wings continuously for an hour, on my arm. she's made progress, but it seems she cannot unfold them... is she deformed from pupation maybe? you can't see it from the picture, but in the video she keeps shaking her abdomen, kind of pulsating and struggling, sometimes she even rubs her hind legs on the half-opened wing.

I cannot wrap my head around inorganic chemistry and cannot get myself to enjoy it.

Hello, i am 19. Italian. I am autistic. I am attending a university course which involves studying for an inorganic chemistry exam. My professor is a piece of shit, and keeps humiliating me for my "ignorance" whenever i ask questions. Anyway, i genuinely cannot comprehend chemistry, since i can't visualize it. I cannot see myself ever liking it, which is weird because i am a huge science fan (i love microbiology, math, physics...). How do i get over it? To me, this just seems like a bunch of memorization, definitions and boredom. Please, someone who loves chemistry, help me. How can i wrap my head around this seemingly incomprehensible nonsense.

This might be an extremely stupid question. I struggle with understanding these cladograms (?) (ALSO WITH TERMS APPARENTLY). I don't understand this "branching off" behaviour? Like yes, at one point in history, these two branched off to be two different things... but like on what basis? What makes them different? Excuse me if this makes NO sense, i got a lot of confusion up there...

hello! i'm a student trying to study. so far i understand that protozoans were once a subkingdom of Protista, but now they have been "split up" into the 2 kingdoms of Chromista (plant-like) and Protozoa (animal/fungi-like). i understand everything about these guys is a MESS, and opinions about them change everyday, but i would like some MENTAL ORDER!!! i don't even need to know this stuff for my exam, but it's really bothering me that i don't understand! what the hell are supergroups??

hi!! she came out today!!! her legs look, kinda wonky? is that normal? she ate a bit, and then she started scratching aggressively the corner of the enclosure, and everytime i touch her or try to move her she respondes sporadically by moving her legs around!! that's a normal defence response i suppose... just a worried first-timer! would bring me some comfort if you guys told me this is normal, or eventually tell me if there's a problem... thanks!
