Holt and Geralt have many obvious parallels drawn in the novel, but considering this DLC is going to be a swan song of sorts for Geralt and has a title almost the exact same as the highlighted line, I've seen surprisingly few people mention this passage from crossroads of ravens.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet. But crossroads is getting an English paperback edition 9/31 with a cover to match with the other Netflix style ones

Even if I thought the game had some issues, holy crap this venom rules as a figure....

The problems: Its far too gooey and stringy. It's too "Venom". The symbiote is supposed to be able to mimick clothing of all types (we actually see this in game when it becomes an actual suit or casual clothing, or Harry's armor) but when it becomes Peter's spider suit it's a gooey "armored alien" style? In comics and film, it wasn't supposed to be so conspicuous, imagine how normal bystanders ETC would react to spiderman suddenly wearing some weird nasty alien suit during his normal duties, it would be scary and off putting. Not to mention his symbiote powers. Suddenly spider man having eerie black goo tendrils and masses of black goo attack criminals and stuff, I know it's good for gameplay but lore wise? The suit never really did anything like that for him.! The design should've been far more similar to his advanced suit. I do like the unique black webs touch and think it's good, but the suit is just a terrible misfire.

When a McFarlane has almost better paint and sculpt work than a figma. And that's if you ignore the mistakenly unpainted beard face. Hard to understate how disappointed I am, considering he's my favorite character of all time. His accessories are also kind of poor, no swappable potion face plate (they're sending a replacement for the fucked up head so it's good I can customize this one at least), a few swords (aerondight and hjalmar's swords can't be sheathed on his back though), a crossbow you can't store, a hand of gwent cards, potion bottle, and igni hand. At 5-6x the price or more, I kind of expect higher quality than this (especially in a smaller figure)

Always wanted this statue (which they supposedly made less than 200 of and handed out at E3 2014) and managed to find a broken one online, with most of the broken off pieces intact and ripe for gluing! There's a chip next to his foot and on the back of his leg I'm going to have to paint, but over all I'm really happy with it!!! Even has the original gog gift code (already redeemed)

I may end up doing custom work on the figure and sword to fully make it but just a quick attempt

I'd say it's good to be back but the truth is, I never left. It's hard to believe it's been over 10 years. I was just a dumb kid when I first met Geralt, but he's shaped my entire adult life. I couldn't have possibly asked for a better 30th birthday gift than this expansion announcement. Here's to over 1800 hours in W3 and hundreds of hours spent on the novels and audiobooks (and the other two games, of course)
