Feculent Gnarlmaw question

I accumulated a small (1000pts) Nurgle daemon army in building up my Death Guard army. I recently bought the AOS regiment with the Gnarlmaw, Spoilpox, and Plaguebearers (mainly for the Plaguebearers). Obviously I plan on running Plague Legion and running only Nurgle units mainly so I can use the models in my DG army. I'm cooking up a strategy where I use the Gnarlmaw as a Shadow spreader because the Plague Legion detachment basically turns the Daemonic Terror portion of the army rule into a 9" aura. It has the Infiltrators ability, so I could potentially deploy it over 8" away from the enemy deployment zone. I was wondering if I could target the Gnarlmaw with the Plague of Woes strategem to allow me to force a second enemy unit within 9" of the tageted unit (Gnarlmaw) to take a Battleshock. I've never used a fortification before and probably will swap it out with something better when I get it, but I figured I'd try to use it in some way.

Leader clarification

I've been seeing posts about how our lead combos will be affected. I went through the app and found the answers. Long Story Short: BP/MPC combo is still valid

Typhus attached units actually got a small buff.

We all can agree the nerfed Skullsquirm hard, but that actual led me to realize that while Typhus leads a unit they inherently now have Skullsquirm due to the Destroyer Hive. Typhus and his attached unit will basically have a knockoff version of the Host of Hybridised Pox/Cornacophagus. It might be cope, but Typhus and 20 PWs can potentially spread a 21" bubble of contagion across the board (12" max contagion range plus 9" max coherency limit)
